Make sure track visibility is on for all clips, tracks are enabled, etc. You're making this self contained? That's good. However, a 4KB file is, as you have found, devoid of video. That's probably header information and nothing else. Does the export seem to be working? How long does it take, and do you see a little progreby Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: unable to export - 16 years agoDarn! I was THE MAN for such a short time! "No content". Do Get Info on the file (CMD-I) and see how big it is. If larger than zero, drag it onto your Quicktime application and see what happens. Did you set any In and Out points on the timeline you're exporting? FCP will only export what is between In and Out. If you haven't set either, it will (should) do the whole timeline. Reby Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: unable to export - 16 years agoSusan, My head is still reeling with your description of where the markers are. I think I see the problem. To deal with chapters, you must be working in a single sequence that contains your entire show. That can be a series of nested sequences, or every single clip you have in the show, that's up to you. The chapter markers you will create will be placed at the top of the timeline window, riby Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: Scaling in FCP 5.1 - 16 years agoMust judge on NTSC/PAL monitor, not computer screen. Scottby Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: unable to export - 16 years agoSusan, Many questions come to mind. 1. Did you check "include chapter markers" (or "all markers" in the Export dialog? 2. <<I then added chapter markers to the sequence in addition to the timeline...>> I have no idea what you're talking about here. The chapter markers go in the timeline, it's the only place they will have any effect. When you are in the Markby Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: MPEG-2 - 16 years agoDid you see the option for "make self contained"? To leave it UNCHECKED is to make a reference movie. Scottby Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: CURIOUS...Why the new registration bit. When did that happen? - 16 years agoBut I don't like Spam!!!by Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: Nesting Mystery - 16 years agoIf I read you right, I think you have discovered that nests have no handles. Even if your source clips had sufficient media for handles at the incoming and outgoing ends, the resulting nest knows nothing about them - only the visible media comes across. What you have to do to correct this is go back to your original sequence and extend the head of the first clip and the tail of the last clip atby Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: dumbest FCP question EVER! - 16 years agoSorry, no way this is the dumbest question ever. The clue is in the way you described how you reordered them. The sequences that were open when you shut down (last saved) are re-opened in sequence name order. So to force an order, name those sequences in the order you want them to appear. Easiest way to do that is use a preceding number, like "1. Opening titles", "2. First carby Scott Taylor - Café LA Re: OSX crash and now my machine wont start - 16 years agoWhy don't you try running the update again, on top of what you already tried to update. Maybe it will work better this time. You said you got a message to do that but didn't say if you had done it. Can't hurt, and is a whole lot easier than all the other solutions. Be sure all peripherals are disconnected during the update. FW drives can suffer during an OS upgrade. He was leading a regular life while his computer worked. That's why spam persists - even though the return is minuscule (though more than "nothing", there is no cost involved in perpetrating it; no work, no expense.
