Set dvx 100B to shoot in 29.97 - 9 years ago
I am renting out a DVX 100B and I am wondering if besides setting a temporary Scene to 29.97, if there is a way to hardwire it to record in 29.97. (The scene is not remembered on power-down and I will be dealing with a client) I am more used to my FZ-1000 which is a magnitude of technology levels higher. Thanksby mark@avolution - Café LA

The old Mac died and even though I can access the data from an old Mac backup drive with hfsexplorer.exe on a Windows 7 PC, there were never any edls or xmls ever. I will have to find someone with FCP6 or FCP7 to do the XML as our old FCP6 is dead, dead, dead. All of our Macs have been decommissioned, but I still have some old projects with the media and fcp files that have backed up on Mac formatted external drives. I have hfsexplorer.exe, so I can mount Mac formatted drives on my PC. I may have to edit an older piece, but never made EDLs as I thought we would never switch to PCs for editing. Anyhow, I have access to the media and fcp files,by mark@avolution - Café LA

We rigged up a Thunderbolt 2 drive array (12T GSpeed Studio) via the Asus TBII daughterboard into a Windows 7 Intel i7 5820 with 16G Ram. The system drive is 500G SSD. I know it is rare to have a TB2 Windows machine, but I will tell you it is quite fast!by mark@avolution - Adobe Premiere Pro CC

The Mac has died, and we are switching to a PC based Thunderbolt II, Premiere solution. Are there any converter programs you can buy that can take the fcp file amd convert it to a premiere project file? XML is not an option, as there are none, and I can't create them as the Mac died. when i load up fcp 6.02 this message comes up during the program boot unable to locate the following external devices HDV (1440 x1080) 30p my default at loadup are sequence dv ntsc 48khz capture aja io composite 8 bit us to DV 48khz device control non-controller video playback none audio playback default As you can see my default sequence is not the issue. I vaguely remember this issue. I think it was with video levels too high in my case. By applying a video safe filter it cured the issue. but this is quite a few years ago.by mark@avolution - Café LA

Don't set import stills to "Fit to Screen". This scaling caused the bluriness when a filter was applied.by mark@avolution - Adobe Premiere Pro CC

I am putting a slideshow together in Adobe Premiere CS4. All the slides are laid out with dissolves and motion/scale where required. The project is set to full screen DV as it is going to DVD when done. Anyhow,Some of the slides need brighness/contrast, and when I add this filter to select slides that need it, the slide will go blurry. ANSWER: Apply default to selection: in the sequence menu. Our company has moved digs, and the mac is not up and running yet, so I have to use PP4 on a Vista machine. Anyhow, in FCP6, it is simple to start your slideshow, grab the bin with the photos and drag to the monitor? (not at a mac right now) and it will allow you to add transition to the entire bin. How about Export using Quicktime conversion as ProRes: sequence settings to match your movie. I had to edit in HDv once and this is how I rectified the situation.
