Click HERE to register now Re: Motion - Animating Photoshop Layers in Z-Space (Movie) - by Mark Spencer - 16 years agoAccording to the redux tutorial; the resolution of the PS file must equal the res that you set as the default. ie 720x486 PS for a 720x486 Motion file. Believe me; this DOES make a difference. It works in theory; but just like 3d Studio Max; don't expect anywhere near realtime playback. I experimented and will move on. Thanksby mark@avolution - Motion Video Wall Tutorial with Stills- Can It be done with video clips? - 16 years agoIn the tutorial on applemotion.net where you set up a 5x5 grid and load up your 25 pictures all scaled appropriately, I have a question. To get the replicator to work without frame motion on the stills, you must disable the "play frames", so that the camera will show a matrix of 25 different pictures. Now, instead of 25 pics you substitutes 25 QT movies, you would to my understby mark@avolution - Motion Re: Green fuzz in the display - 16 years agoOhh! But no go on PC imported photoshop files if they contain multiple layers.by mark@avolution - Motion Motion - Animating Photoshop Layers in Z-Space (Movie) - by Mark Spencer - 16 years agoPlease note that if you bring in a multi-layered photoshop file from either PC based Photoshop 5.5 or CS1, the apple-dolly will not automatically scale the layer as it pulls away or towards the camera. As we do not have photoshop on the Mac ,this has been a disappointment; as the effect clearly works in the video tutorial; and it is also clear that Photoshop is the Mac version. With the 2D fixed resolution, anything outside the viewable area is culled or clipped and this save time and memory. Basically, Motion should be able to camera-cull anything outside the viewable area to the limits of the canvas-which after all if always only equal to what you can see. markspencby mark@avolution - Motion fixed resolution for 3d layers? - 16 years agoFor 2D layers you can turn on fixed resolution to clamp a layer to a fixed res, say 720x486. When you switch to 3D, is there a function that locks the camera to the same parameters? Let's say you create a cube (let's say for analogy sake that a cube=a clip in FCP) and then you apply a modifier (say bend) and then you create another cube. You can copy the modifier from CubeA to CubeB as either a copy or an instance. You could export a QT as ProRes from FCP; port it to a Windows PC, and use DVDit and do a full 1080p Blu-Ray then. The reason I mention this is I have not been able to find a Mac DVD authoring software that does 1080p (Both Toast Ti BD and DVDSP HDDVD are a max res of 1080i) Anyhow this may be may way around the 1080i barrier.
