So something doesn't seem right. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Final Cut Express To Tape - 19 years agoLori Did you read this and follow directions exactly as it says? You have to use the AIC (Apple Intermediary Codec) in order to edit the HDVby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Hitachi explains Perpindicular storage - 19 years agoAn homage to the great Jack Sheldon who was the vocalist on many of the Schoolhouse Rock interludes in the 70s I'm just a bill. Yes, I'm only a bill. And I'm sitting here on Capitol Hill. Well, it's a long, long journey To the capital city. It's a long, long wait While I'm sitting in committee, But I know I'll be a law some day At least I hope and pray that I will But today I am still just a biby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: When is NAB? - 19 years agoI'm kidding Scott. Rule is always - no one knows anything and if we do we can't tell. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Hitachi explains Perpindicular storage - 19 years agoGenius. Now if only Inphase would explain Holographic Storage this way mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Anamorphic capture - 19 years agoYou capturing anamorphic media? Is so and you are dropping it into a 4:3 timeline than you have to render. In other words your capture settings have to match your sequence settings. You cant mix and match or you render. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: When is NAB? - 19 years agoScott Rogers wrote: > When is NAB? Don't know why as no one has been able to pin the problem down, but exporting your file to your desktop and then dragging it onto compressor, seems to solve a lot of compressor problems But I suspect that is not the problem here. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Media Manager issue resolved! - 19 years agoCool John Thanks for the report. It should help a lot of people mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA New FCP K-base article - 19 years agoFinal Cut Pro: Modifications to Photoshop layers may cause unexpected scaling Click here for all the dramaby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: corrupt file? if so, how do i find it? - 19 years agoMay be a disk to full error. How much space you got on your media drive(s)? mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: output to DVCam - 19 years agoIt's doubtful your deck will support Edit to Tape. So use Print to Video. You can also just play the timeline and hit record on your deck. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Free Shadow/Highlight plugin - 19 years agoVery Cool Thanks John mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Transition Pixelating - 19 years agoWhich transistions you talking about. You rendering in High quality? No green line? mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Final Cut Express To Tape - 19 years agoMan, it seems that the adage is true: If you are a FCP user, get out of MPEG2 as soon as you can." Meaning, HDVxDV is about the only way to go if you seriously want to edit this stuff. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: No audio after capturing Hi-8 video - 19 years agoUnplug the camera from the FW port and you will hear sound...or go get a pair of external speakers and hook them up to your DV Camera mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: PSD looks crappy... - 19 years agoAnd following Ian's good advice, look at it on a NTSC monitor. Otherwise, you wont see the real thing. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: No audio after capturing Hi-8 video - 19 years agoYou need your speakers hooked up to your deck, not your computer. Or just unplug your deck if you dont have external speakers mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Final Cut Express To Tape - 19 years agoLets take it from the top Lori. Now that you have your media into FCE, what exactly is your sequence settings? In order to hear sound you need your speakers hooked up to your deck with deck hooked up via Firewire. View All Frames must be checked to see your movie on your NTSC monitor. mkeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: A FCP 3.0 question - 19 years agoDo you have Cleaner installed? I remember with FCP 3 that Cleaner would cause this error. Also try re-installing Quicktime Mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Geekdom Heaven - 19 years agoBet ya the dude gets a nice gig from this :-) mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Sony XDCAM - 19 years agoYou cant as far as I know. I believe you'd have to convert the XDCAM disk to something FCP can edit. I think Avid supports the XDCAM but FCP doesnt mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Freelance Taxes - 19 years agoAll that stuff goes under Schedule C. This assumes you qualify for it and unfortunately we cant give tax advice on this forum unless a tax advisor happens to stop by. Best to consult one I'm afraid. Might save you money in the long run mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: A FCP 3.0 question - 19 years agoGot any stills in that project? Maybe a greyscale or one that is not RGB? mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Laying HD conversion to tape - 19 years agoWhat are your sequence settings Lori? I'm not sure if we can be of much help. No one on this forum is using Lumiere. Try posting over on DVINFO.net. Frederick posts over there frequentlyby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: how do i send screen shot of desk top? - 19 years agoThat is cool Thanks Jude. Might use this one if its OK mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Geekdom Heaven - 19 years agoWow. That was...cool. Cant imagine how long that took mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Audio clipping on capture - 19 years agoThen trash your preferences and try again. Right now I'd say just export your clips to QT and bring them back in. Beats hell out of recapturing. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Audio clipping on capture - 19 years agoOften times mixing down the audio will solve the problem but not always. Its an issue with Canon camcorders, specificially the XL1. They handle audio differently and BASIC compensates for that. Mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA Re: Audio clipping on capture - 19 years agoYou need to create a pre set and use Firewire BASIC as your protocol rather than Firewire NTSC. This seems to help cure the XL1 audio problem. mikeby Michael Horton - Café LA |
