If not, not sure you can just move everything from a PowerPC machine to an Intel machine - I'd suggest a reinstall.by markspencer - Motion Re: Viewing Motion Projects on External Monitor - 14 years agoIn Motion did you set the preferences to view on the external monitor?by markspencer - Motion Re: Shake discontinued. And then? - 14 years agoSo nothing happens. Apple discontinued development for Shake a few years ago, they announced it, and folks use it anyway. This announcement should really come as no surprise, I guess I don't see what all the fuss it about. And no, Motion 4 is not the new Shake, not at all. It's a motion graphics application, not a visual effects compositing application (although you can do some vfx tasks in itby markspencer - Motion Re: Timeline erratically changes. - 14 years agoI have never hear of this problem (and I thought I'd heard everything). What version of Motion are you running? On what hardware, what OS? And have you tried trashing your preferences?by markspencer - Motion Re: Motion seqs in FCP no longer rendering - 14 years agoYou could try right-clicking the Motion projects, choose Open in Editor, make sure they contain all links, and then resave the projects. If that doesn't work, you could always render out of Motion and replace the Motion project file in FCP with the rendered QT movie.by markspencer - Motion Re: My video card, Motion, and maximum res - 14 years agoNot many options for the G5 - see if you can find the Nvidia 6800, it does 4K. Be very careful to get a card that works in Macs, not just PCs, and specifically in your model of G5 - could be PCI or PCIe, you'll need to check. There could be other cards too - key is the texture size limit, you'll want 4K (or 8K if you can find one for the G5)by markspencer - Motion Re: My video card, Motion, and maximum res - 14 years agoYour card is a 2K card. The amount of VRAM is different than the texture limit.by markspencer - Motion Re: Need help, could help me GET A JOB! - 14 years agoEasy to do in Motion using dropzones in order to quickly replace the content...by markspencer - Motion Re: DOTTED FLOOR needs an alpha only reflection - 14 years agoUse an image mask.by markspencer - Motion Re: No inspector and Library when open Motion. - 14 years ago1) Quit Motion. 2) Navigate to User/Library/Preferences. 3) Locate com.apple.motion.plist and delete it.by markspencer - Motion Re: Removing Logo's From video - 14 years agoYou could track the footage and blur it selectively in Motion - here's a tutorial to get you started:by markspencer - Motion Re: Need help with importing layers of PSD: mismatch of layers - 14 years agoBy default, Motion scales down large skills to fit the Canvas. Two solutions: 1) Make your project size match your photo size 2) Change the default behavior in Preferences.by markspencer - Motion Re: Rulers not appearing - 14 years agoDo you mean you can't see the guides that you create by dragging out from the rulers, or that you can't see the actual rulers themselves along the top and left edges when you turn them on under the View pop-up menu? Either way, have you check that all the appropriate items are turned on under the View pop-up menu at the far right of the Canvas? And have you tried trashing your preferences fby markspencer - Motion Re: Fixed resolution and 3d view - 14 years agoThat's because a 3D group can't have a fixed resolution. Try flattening the group first.by markspencer - Motion Re: adding alpha channel - 14 years agoWhy don't you just delete the white background? Or, if it's created in Edit > Project Properties, set it to Transparent.by markspencer - Motion Re: Need Help with Motion WorkFlow - 14 years agoI really don't think that will work but haven't tested it - it just doesn't make sense that it would work. If you add an edit point to a Motion project embedded in an FCP sequence, that doesn't give you access to handles in the underlying FCP clips that you sent to Motion - it just gives you handles on the Motion project itself.by markspencer - Motion Re: Need Help with Motion WorkFlow - 14 years agoExcept that it won't work. Not when you send all your clips over at once. It could work when you send each clip independently, but that would would defeat the purpose of sending the ciips to Motion in the first place.by markspencer - Motion Re: Motion Export Inconsistencies - 14 years agoYou shouldn't be seeing a gamma shift, period.by markspencer - Motion Re: Need Help with Motion WorkFlow - 14 years agoSmart. Very nice. Thanks for posting back.by markspencer - Motion Re: Motion Vs Shake vs AE - 14 years agoAE is is layer based. If you are using FCS I would use Motion - learning curve isn't as steep, great integration with FCP and DVDSP, and a tremendous amount of content for building your projects - and if you own Final Cut Studio you already have Motion.by markspencer - Motion Re: Need Help with Motion WorkFlow - 14 years agoI answered this in your private message - but just for others: transitions, filters, and generators don't make the trip from FCP to Motion so you need to work with that fact. One way is to do all your transitions in Motion by creating them yourself.by markspencer - Motion Re: Motion Vs Shake vs AE - 14 years agoThere are a lot of ways to describe these but here's one: Motion: primarily for motion graphics, layer-based Shake: primarily for VFX, nodal-based AE: does both, layer-basedby markspencer - Motion Re: Match Move an Emitter? - 14 years agoCool - thanks for posting your solution.by markspencer - Motion Re: Match Move an Emitter? - 14 years agoYou might want to watch this to see if you are doing it correctly: Post back.by markspencer - Motion |
