We used 2 Canon 7D's with a shoulder mount. We used 3 lenses: 35mm, 50mm and 24-70mm L lenses. We shot 2.5 days. The actors were great. When the final product is finished hopefully it'll be something enjoyable. The audio, we're shooting using external devices. The editor/directors want to eventually convert down to 24p. so, what does the audio have to be recorded as in order to sync properly? yes, it's vague. if I described it all wrong please let me know and I will try to explain to more clear. So I do my usual thing, I export the movie file and now I'm in a brain freeze. Should I add it as is when I create a dvd using iDVD? Should I put the original sequence in a 4:3 sequence then export to movie file then use that in iDVD? (Giving it the "widescreen" look) I'm pretty sure the folks I'm giving this dvd to havby PhillyFilmmaker - Café LA Re: Picking lenses for camera - 14 years agoHere's the beauty of it. I'm one of the DP's. And I have a chance to learn from this project bc everyone involved has a role and we're all learning like say it was in a classroom or something. And in these grand ol' economic times I'm not spending any $$$. Even better, it's not like those 48/72 jobbers where everything has to be done fast like a chickenhead. The setting is going to be indoors (e.g. basement room type setting) and a few establishing shots outside. That's the basics of it. At work, I have a dual monitor setup (20" Apple & 23" apple) with no external monitoring setup. With an Apple Mac Pro. At home, I only have a MacBookPro. So at home, I'd like to eventually build a monitor solution to go with the Macbook Pro or if I add a Mac Pro. At work, I guess I'd like to have a monitoring solution? Would that be correct? This is our 2009 national film challenge entry. One thing we tried to do in editing was cut cut cut. I think we could have added more music in there but there wasn't enough time and we had to get it mailed out. Please let me know if there's a problem viewing it. I tested it on two different machines and it looked like it worked. But I think I use it too much. I'd like to try something different. I tried Impact for a while then went back to Ariel. If there's a driver out there for it to work i'd like to know. lolol. But yes I have snow leopard on the machine so maybe that has something to do with it? I also have an MBox 2 Pro that came with Pro Tools 7.0.4 which I used with a Powerbook 17" and Tiger. Two KRK V4 monitors. I want to use the KRK monitors & the MBox 2 Pro with the MacBookPro but a) Pro tools is old and doesn't work on it. b) ... If so, how can I get it to see the MBox2?by PhillyFilmmaker - Café LA MBox2 Pro with Snow Leopard - 15 years agoHello, I'm not sure if this question goes to this forum but: I recently got a MacBook Pro w/SnowLeopard and installed Final Cut Studio and Logic Studio. So I installed Pro Tools LE 7. Now, I have to go back and check later if the Pro Tools install worked but for some reason the machine does not recognize the MBox2 Pro. I'm trying to figure out a way to explain to this client that the only way he'll get "dvd quality" is to put the dvd in the dvd player because of the limitations of the media format these people can only use right now.by PhillyFilmmaker - Compressor - Media Compression and Conversion Re: DVD quality on the web - 15 years agohow about AVI? my only option is to convert it to something that Windows Media Player can play with high quality. and also if possible it needs to look good in full screen. We only have windows media player here for people to view videos.
