LOLOLOL So basically I organize my projects like this: - Project files, music, sound effects, images (pictures, stills, what do most people call them?) I connect my MacPro to the miniDv player via firewire. I use the video/audio outs from the mini dv to the tv. U use the miniDV player to capture to FCP I also use the video/audio outs from the dvd player to the tv. I move the cable back and forth between the dvd player and the minidv player as needed.by PhillyFilmmaker - Café LA Re: Font Choice for video - 15 years agoWell.........I'm gonna try Arial Black. The beginning is just basic text with a black background and a music from the event. Then i'm showing about 20sec's worth of each performer 9 performers in total. the font size is 36. this piece is going to be exported to dvd and as probably a .mp4 and wmv for peeps to watch on our intranet. nby PhillyFilmmaker - Café LA Font Choice for video - 15 years agohello, I'm using the American Typewriter font for the beginning of a video and it looks terrible on export! What else can I use besides Arial Black? (I've been using Arial black for most bc it doesnt look jagged after export) Also, is there an export setting I can use tht will give the best possible quality? Ive been using Uncompressed 8-bit NTSC 48 kHz. (read about using it in an article soby PhillyFilmmaker - Café LA Re: formatting video for 16:9 tv - 15 years agoHere's what I have so far: Settings for the sequence: - Frame Size: 1280x720 HDTV 720p (16:9) - Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square - UNCHECKED Anamorphic 16:9 Then when I export to quicktime movie file the setting is on HDV - 720p60. and it looked like what I was looking for. BUT, of course, it only exported 35 seconds of a 1:11 sec sequence... I'm helping produce a video that will be shown on a plasma tv. the tv is a 42inch 16:9 aspect ratio. pixels: 1024 x 768. the video will have pictures and later on as it develops will have some video but that's later on down the line. right now i'm just testing with pictures and text. I'm converting some old VHS tapes to Mini DV and then importing the Mini DV's to FCP6 so that I can make movie files and put then to dvd. I guess I want to make sure I'm doing this the right way. I'm copying from VHS to Mini DV. Then capturing from Mini DV into FCP6. Then I add some titles, lately I've been using the DeInterlace filter because the piby PhillyFilmmaker - Café LA Capturing 24p from Canon XL2 - 15 years agoHello. I used the Canon XL2 with the 24p 16:9 setting to record a wedding. What do I need to do to import it into FCP6 correctly? I used the DV NTSC anamorphic project setting. But I get the feeling I might be doing it wrong. Please advices? When FCP starts up it hangs at the beginning like it's trying to access something. It doesn't continue until I turn off one of my LaCie drives. The extra folks from the music video just made the club look populated. How we would have done it without those folks, I guess we would have had to figure tht out when it came to it.
