I dont hv a subscription to the NY times so I can't read the article. LOLOL...ok, let me ask the question the Indie way...how can I use Pro Tools LE with Final Cut without breaking the bank? hahahaha... Actually, I've been fiddling with Pro Tools LE for a few weeks now and I got a basic handle on it. I don't think I'll be spending $1000 more for that Filmmakers took kit for PT's so I just be making tunes and adding them as audio to FCP.... Is there anyone outby PhillyFilmmaker - Soundtrack Pro

Hello, I've made my edits and am ready to export. Ever since I've been using FCP I've been exporting to a Movie file. And then I use that file when I burn to a dvd. Is that the way to go? It works for me so I'm assuming that's the way to do it...by PhillyFilmmaker - Café LA

Hello.... More films were added from the Philly 48 hr film project...check them out...They had the screenings last night. We watched all of them. 4 groups. About 38 films. Link to our short film: This isn't the actual one that'll be showed at the screening. I fixed it up two things. One, was a short sound hiccup in the beginning where the music stopped for some reason. I had re-export one of the music clips then it worked fine. The other thing was the credits in the end were redone. That's what I get for starting the credits so late! DOH.... I was wondering if anyone had seen Alpha Dog yet? I was hoping I could get some advice on what to look for when watching a movie for ideas and such. Technique....how the editing is... I also have trouble figuring out whether the acting is decent or not? What do you look for? Hello, Has anyone ever used the Sony GV-D1000 to import mini dv tapes? I was using it on this one tape and I kept getting errors, so I put the tape back in the XL2 and it's importing fine. Also, I wanted to know people's different methods of importing video fom mini dv. I usually just import the whole tape, setting in and out then capturing. How much time do you put in to importing?? FCP Studio 5.0.4 Hello. I'm trying to import some video from Mini DV. the video starts out pretty quick on the tape so I set the pre-roll to 2 seconds then set the in point to 3 seconds but I still got the message about not enough timecode to start the batch capture. Dude, that was COOL!!.... How did you do that so fast? I want to be a great editor like you guys... Let me give you some background on that particular flick. By the way, heheh, none of the actors were pros, just all friends looking to make something cool. we all had a great time making it. HOT!!...i'm not discouraged at all...if anything, now i have more ammo to improve my editing and storytelling...i definately want to get better at it and the only way is to keep doing more and getting feedback on it... I have all these books on editing and lighting and etc...but the storytelling is another aspect that needs to be addressed... Hello derekmok, Be harsh! I got no problem with the harshness because you followed it up with suggestions that we can use to improve the next one. Characters, acting and writing will definately be worked on the next time...What's a PSA Style conceit? Did you get a chance to check out Sole Sisters too?
