I'm not a professional audio engineer (I was once, years ago) or a professional video editor (I'm an amatuer, with no intention of going pro.) but I work all the time with audio and video people - and I often get to hear the results of audio/video work. I have to say that an awful lot of talented video editors think they know what they are doing when it comes to sound, and judging byby Travis - Café LA Re: working with email attached .mp3 - 18 years agoHi Ron. For voiceovers, .mp3 even at lower bit-rates, can sound pretty good. I've sent complete mixes, with music to FM radio stations, via mp3 - the stations requested .mp3 at 128kpbs stereo - they didn't want uncompressed or higher bit-rates. Remember, most of the audio you hear on tv and radio has gone through at least one .mp3 conversion, and often more! Today it seems strange to me that professionals in this business forget to make things clear at the beginning of a project, but I was the same way for a long time, until I got burned BIG TIME, by soby Travis - Café LA Re: Intel Mac Benchmarks - 18 years ago"Market penetration" is only part of the security story. It took me quite a while to understand some of these concepts, but here are a few rules which will help keep you from being burned. (1) Contracts are ALWAYS necessary. By "Contract", I mean a very clear agreement between everyone involved as to who does what, and who gets whaby Travis - Café LA Re: mySQL - 18 years agoOK. Remember, I'm not an expert on such things, I'm posting because I probably have more mySQL experience than most here. I'm also just getting up to speed on MACs. First, for what it appears you're trying to do, you don't need any special "file-building and maintenance software", to accomplish your task. You can write all you code in any ap which allows you to edit html code. It's reliable, and easier to use than other databases. It's usually used with a programming language called PHP, which is a pretty easy language to learn and use. You can also get lots of free applications, which are already set up to use PHP and mySql. It's like asking "Is a Ferrari worth it?" For me the answer to that question the answer is certainly "No" - to the HDV question, the answer is "Yes". One of my neighbors, who loves Ferraris would answer those questions the other way around. When I was a Film & TV studby Travis - Café LA |
