There should be a minimum of 10% free space on a drive used for production.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: Sharing Problems - 12 years agoThe media hasn't been imported properly because of the overly full drive most likely. Use the reimport from camera function in the file menu. You select using original/optimized in the playback preferences. There is almost no point in using proxy media with AVCHD originals.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: converting audio files to aiff - 12 years agoCompressor can create a Droplet that will automatically convert an audio file to AIFF 49k.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: Ken Burn effect by FCP X - 12 years agoClick the Transform popup in the lower left of the viewer and select crop. Three buttons will appear. This will work well with FCP. iMovie will require more drive space as it converts the media.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: Importing MTS/AVCHD files from Memory Card - 12 years agoYou use the camera import function and select the top level that contains the folder structure from the card. Do not go into the folder structure. There are free MTS players. Mountain Lion can play MTS files in QuickLook.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: PAL to NTSC - 12 years agoYou could, but it would be better in Compressor or specialist standards conversion software like Graeme Nattress'.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: Optimize Media Question - 12 years agoIf an optimized clip is available the application automatically uses that. You do not have to import it.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: creating multicam clip - 12 years agoThis can happen of the app thinks they came from the same camera. Make sure the cameras have unique angle numbers and camera names. If the cameras aren't running matching date/time stamps, make sure content created is not selected as a syncing option.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: hold option to duplicate - 12 years agoThe release is only for overwrite. If you want to insert you don't release. If you want to shuffle you option after you drag.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: hold option to duplicate - 12 years agoIt's very Mac like. It's one way to duplicate a file at the Finder level.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: Plural Eyes WorkFlow-After synch - 12 years agoThey shouldn't end up as separate projects, but as separate compound clips. You cut the compound clips into the timeline just like any other clip.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: Getting text to look good in FCP X - 12 years agoI guess you mean the Motion files look good and show the same jagged edges when they're put in FCP? Can you post screen shots somewhere? What happens when you make the titles in FCP?by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: FCP X workflow with Red Epic -X - 12 years agoThere isn't current proper support for RED in FCP. These two links might help you thoughby Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: Copy Master Clip - 13 years agoThis doesn't sound like FCPX. What version are you using? This is the FCPX forum.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: System Settings question. - 13 years agoSettings are user based, not project based. You have to reset it for every project. Been requested many times, never happened, and I guess now it never will.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: Shortcuts - 13 years agoI assume you mean Cmd = and that the timeline is the active panel.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Serious problem in 10.0.3 titles - 13 years agoIn 10.0.3 titles that have Build In/Out cannot be moved. They now appear to get keyframed if you move the content. For instance, the Overlap lower third. If you shift the text to the left to accommodate a lengthy name, the text then drifts across the screen as if keyframes have been added. Because you have to do it when you're half way through the title, you can't do it at the beginning or end itby Tom Wolsky - Café LA - X Re: Timeline in FCP not appearing - 13 years agoTry Control-U to reset your windows.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: some Lion questions - 13 years agoFor the Library hold the Option key and use the Go menu in the Finder.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: some Lion questions - 13 years agoNot in the format popup in the erase dialog, in one of the menus. I'm not at a computer I can look for it at the moment, but I've seen it there.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: some Lion questions - 13 years agoIn the Disk Utility one if the menu items has the option to switch journaling off. You can do it after you've formatted the drive.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: how to stop a text scroll - 13 years agoIt's there. Under Boris in the generators button or in the Effects tab. Do a search there for Title Crawl.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: how to stop a text scroll - 13 years agoUse Title Crawl. In it's controls animate the last item. Can't remember what it's called, but you can set it to go from zero to like 95% and hold there.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: QT file compress - 13 years agoWhat video application are you using? This forum is for Final Cut Studio, which includes a lot of other applications. For an iMovie question you're probably better off asking on the Apple support iMovie forum.by Tom Wolsky - Café LA Re: QT file compress - 13 years agoSorry, can't help.
