Great presentation....Apple should have hired him to premiere FCPX. Actually learned what it can do and how to translate what you know in FCP to the X program -- Apple could have avoided this heartburn by not killing FCP studio -- offering some kind of translation (as the presenter indicates IS possible) and showing pros how to make it work. Doesn't seem to save the compressed versions - must cache them somewhere, upload and then get rid of them -- I'll have to download the compressed version from me.com and see what the setting are - but they are crystal clear!by Andy Field - Café LA

We use many compression programs including Compressor and episode - and none of them compresses as cleanly or quickly as I-Movie does for the web. We've taken finished FCP7 projects - taken the QuickTime into I-Movie and told it to export to Mobile Me and YouTube - the results are stunning - but I have two questions 1 - how do we find the exact settings they're using in Imovie for Mobile/Medby Andy Field - Café LA

So after buying AVID MC 5.5 and installing and spending the last week learning it (and not being thrilled about not knowing all the keyboard shortcuts and getting tired of all the mousing around in what seems to be 4 steps to do what takes one in FCP 7)..... Spoke with my local Washington DC VAR - company who's set up and sold us our FCP Systems (macs and software) for a decade. I don't understand the "Final Cut X has promise lets just wait and see" philosophy . We had a stable solid professional tool which Apple abandoned and sent us 10 steps backwards - and then after a week of furious blogs and messages, Apple delivers a tepid FAQ and a " we promise it will get better" someday. This is an enormous U turn from Jaw Dropping and nothing like it.....I feel for Larry and other trainers who built their business on a professional market with enough disposable income to pay for premium training. but isn't that the issue? - how much time are FCP editors wasting getting used to something that wasn't broken in the first place - and when they do get used to it - still must go back to the old program to do things that should be easy (or even available) in the new - Clients pay you to produce work - not learn new software that can't in many cases do what the old software doesby Andy Field - Café LA - X

The Petition is now past 2000 signatures - more than a thousand more in the last 6 hours. Seriously -- anyone posting their distress here is distressed because of everything that's in this short film -- we can not use 10 years of work created in FCP in this new product - it's great for a quick stand alone non tape or film based short project - everything else has an enormous question mark.
