AE has the option to continuously rasterize vector graphics, so you will get smooth lines when you zoom once you check that option. You can do a rough up in FCP to see if you'll like that effect, but since you're going to be using two apps, you may as well use Illustrator and AE (or do both the text and effects in AE). Or you can try using Motion. Because from memory, the installer for FCP6 was PowerPC and required Rosetta to install. The installer for FCP7 should not. >The question whether FCP7 runs with full reliability and efficiency under Mountain Lion is still open. FCP7 seems to work fine. I'm not sure about full reliability as thby strypes - Café LA Re: First casualty of CC = Adobe Encore is dead... - 10 years agoI spoke to the Adobe folks during NAB, and one of the things they mentioned was that they were planning on having a repository of previous versions of their software on the Cloud. CS6 is EOL'd but they are up there on the cloud.by strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: First casualty of CC = Adobe Encore is dead... - 10 years agoEncore will be offered as part of the Premiere CS6 download, as it is currently. You could not install Encore as a standalone in CS6, and neither can you now. So I expect Encore to be there as long as Premiere CS6 is offered on the cloud. Encore being EOL'd simply means that there will be no more further development. Period. Can they pull it off the servers? If they do that they will have to pullby strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: First casualty of CC = Adobe Encore is dead... - 10 years agoThat I agree with you, but I don't see why they will pull it off the servers or deactivate users unless there is a legal issue, which I doubt.by strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: First casualty of CC = Adobe Encore is dead... - 10 years agoI agree with the lack of communication bit. But to me the writing for Encore has been on the wall for quite some time. Continued development of a production tool for a format on the demise is simply not financially viable. Rovi's Scenarist is dead too and there's perhaps a closer connection here. Adobe hasn't exactly done an Apple where they pulled sales of FCP7 and left users with a very expeby strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: First casualty of CC = Adobe Encore is dead... - 10 years agoIt's downloadable as Premiere CS6. Which I wish they made it as a standalone. There are no plans to remove the apps that are currently available on the cloud and I can't imagine why they will do that as they will lose customers with little benefit for them. I always wonder why folks are so concerned software development plans tomorrow. If Encore is no longer available or if it does not run on 10.by strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: add transitions on import- premiere pro 4 - 10 years agoDrag all the shots to timeline, select either the clips (with selection tool) or the edit points (with roll tool) and hit your shortcut for transition. Edit: Sorry, I missed the PPro 4 bit. My advice only applies to CC and in part, CS6.by strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Problem installing FCP7 on Mountain Lion - 10 years ago>impossible to launch Motion 4by strypes - Café LA Re: First casualty of CC = Adobe Encore is dead... - 10 years agoAt least you can still download it even if you are a new customer. Lots of DVD authoring software is dead too, like Scenarist, DVDSP, etc.by strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Problem installing FCP7 on Mountain Lion - 10 years ago>Yes, your FCP 7 projects will open in PP. Just a slight correction. Premiere will not open an FCP7 project file, but will import XMLs exported from FCP7. Most software cannot open an FCP7 project file because it's proprietary.by strypes - Café LA Re: 3 Brain Machine - 10 years agoHi Clay, I have MC7, Premiere Pro CC, FCP7 and Resolve Lite running on my Macbook Pro. No issues that I know of. The only thing you need to be aware of is that MC usually qualifies Mac OS's late, while Premiere tends to like the latest NLE. The reason is because Premiere loves GPU, so the latest OS's provide the latest GPU drivers. As for the learning curve, I feel that exposing yourself toby strypes - Avid Media Composer Re: Agree or Disagree: Cutting w/ Media Composer will provide more jobs and higher pay? - 10 years agoI agree with Joey that it is talent over NLE. And that there is no room for snobs. However, depending on the type of work you are doing. If you are working on your own machine and do not need to hand work off to someone else, then the NLE does not matter. If you are working at a facility, or if you need to hand work off to someone else, then the NLE does matter. Predominantly, I am still in FCP7by strypes - Café LA Re: Agree or Disagree: Cutting w/ Media Composer will provide more jobs and higher pay? - 10 years ago> As an educator, I can rent CC for as little as > $20/month, which is very good to my mind. In LA and in many major industries, you probably need to know MC well.by strypes - Café LA Re: Agree or Disagree: Cutting w/ Media Composer will provide more jobs and higher pay? - 10 years ago>as a general rule FCP is not used for "heavy" projects like movie editing and >multicam TV shows. I would disagree. I am using FCP7 to cut multicam and have been using it to cut TV shows including multicam and what not. There's a preference naturally, but I'm not saying that you can't. In fact, quite a few TV shows and features have been cut on FCP both in Hollywood and theby strypes - Café LA Re: Cloud Update Day - 10 years agoHi Joey, it is a separate install. And you can install both CS6 and CC concurrently. I had both CS6 and CC installed.by strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: workflow for feature using multiple cameras (C300 and DSLR) and sync sound - 10 years agoWhat I do is to merge the video with the wav files (cmd L) in the timeline. Then I select all the clips, make them independent and drag them into a new bin. That will create new master clips. You can sort them by scene or by cards in the bin. You can also now choose to delete the original unsynced clips or move them to another project file so as to avoid clutter. Then I start creating multicliby strypes - Café LA Re: workflow for feature using multiple cameras (C300 and DSLR) and sync sound - 10 years agoTranscode, sync, create multiclips. In that order. You can sync after the edit, but that takes up more time. Pluraleyes is useful for syncing via audio if you're doing it FCP. Premiere has built in syncing, and native format support so yea, that's what I'll do, but I'll wait for the next patch to work with multicam in Premiere.by strypes - Café LA Re: on jobs too - not sure where to put - seeking Premiere expert for private instruction - 10 years agoI'll do a quick comparison between Avid and Premiere. I'll first start by mentioning a brief background of Avid, FCP and Premiere to put things into perspective. Avid comes from the higher end film and broadcast industry where collaborative workflows is the norm and Avid also makes their own server systems for collaborative editing, eg. ISIS, etc.. They also own ProTools which is very widely uby strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: on jobs too - not sure where to put - seeking Premiere expert for private instruction - 10 years agoFor Avid, here's a discussion on the pros and cons of going from FCP7 to Avid.by strypes - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Agree or Disagree: Cutting w/ Media Composer will provide more jobs and higher pay? - 10 years agoIf anything, I find the Adobe model makes it easier for users who want to pick up the apps. They don't have to worry about making a one off purchase on a full license. Also if you're often working at production facilities, and rarely use your own machine, you can choose to license the app for a month or two to familiarize with the app. It's sort of a pay as you use model vs paying even if you'reby strypes - Café LA Re: on jobs too - not sure where to put - seeking Premiere expert for private instruction - 10 years agoThat could be fairly interesting. Unfortunately due to distance and schedule, I can't do a private session.
