For the past month their has been no glitches in any of the footage. Yesterday, the client wanted me to go back and change one thing and I noticed that all the video footage from the second day of shooting is totally messed up. The sound is fine, but the image is broken up into tiny squares that vibrate with bright colors.by healdsburger - Café LA avid into fcp? - 16 years agoI am trying to get a project that was worked on in Avid into FCP. I have imported the EDL but all the clips are "offline." I assume this is because they are formatted for Avid. Is there anyway to get them into FCP so that I can edit them. I've checked the FAQ and have searched the forum, but can't find anything. Please help. Thank you, Ramsayby healdsburger - Café LA Re: changing dvd files to quicktime. - 16 years agoThanks guys. I couldn't seem to find the info in the FAQ. Next time I'll search more thoroughly before I post. Thanks though.by healdsburger - Café LA changing dvd files to quicktime. - 16 years agoHello again, The director I am currently working for has a scene in her movie where the characters are watching a performance art piece on a laptop. She wants me to cut to actual footage from a performance art piece she did several years ago. Trouble is, she brought me a dvd of it with only the video ts and audio ts files --- no quicktime. I have looked online for how to convert the files inby healdsburger - Café LA Re: choppy video in viewer. - 16 years agoThanks Jude, That seemed to work. Great suggestion.by healdsburger - Café LA Re: choppy video in viewer. - 16 years agoIf I take one of the clips and throw it into the timeline and then render it, it plays fine in the canvas. Is this a render issue? How can you render clips before working with them in the timeline?by healdsburger - Café LA Re: choppy video in viewer. - 16 years agoHi Derek, The file is DV/DVCPRO - NTSC. I have the file on an external firewire drive.by healdsburger - Café LA Re: choppy video in viewer. - 16 years agoThanks Derek. It is set to "fit to window," but it's still playing back weirdly. It will play smoothly for about a second or two and then stick on one frame for a second or two and then play smoothly for a second or two and repeat ad nauseum. Is there anything else I could try?by healdsburger - Café LA choppy video in viewer. - 16 years agoHello, I am working on a project that someone previously was working on In iMovie. To get it into FCP I exported the project from iMovie at full quality, I then opened the project in FCP, loaded the sequence into the timeline and rendered it. When the sequence plays in the canvas everything works swimmingly, but when I try to view individual clips in the viewer it's very choppy. Does anyone knby healdsburger - Café LA Re: dv stream weirdness in logic - 16 years agoThe sound guys want it in DV Stream. I don't know why, I'm a lowly assistant. Since it's a huge file, I'm pretty sure they were playing the movie from a portable drive that my boss put it on after I converted it. Maybe the weirdness is because it isn't a firewire drive? Or is it because the sequence was in HD at a different frame rate and that I should have converted it to 29.97fps before doingby healdsburger - Café LA dv stream weirdness in logic - 16 years agoThe people doing the music for our film requested a dv stream of our sequence with a timecode burn at 29.97 frames and at 16:9 aspect ratio. First I nested the video and applied a timecode burn filter which conveniently has 29.97 as the default. I then did a quicktime conversion and changed the default from the 4:3 default to the 16:9. The music people called me today and said that in Logic thby healdsburger - Café LA brightness spikes in quicktime. - 16 years agoMy boss just made a quicktime of a feature film we are working on and brightness is uneven. It tends to spike throughout, especially where there are dissolves. We did not have these sort on our previous roughs. Does anyone have any clue as to what may be causing this. Thank you for your help, JRPby healdsburger - Café LA FCP and Mac HD memory. - 16 years agoIs there a certain number of GBs in Mac HD storage that I need to keep available at all times to ensure FCP will run smoothly? I currently have 13.66 GB out of 117GB available. Is this too little, or okay? Thanks,by healdsburger - Café LA Getting rid of Background Process window after deselecting Smooth Cam? - 16 years agoMy boss tried using the Smooth Cam filter on some clips and since it was taking so long to render just a few short clips, he decided not to use the filter. The problem is, after deselecting the Smooth Cam, the Background Processes window still keeps popping. How can we get it running back to normal. Thanks for your help.by healdsburger - Café LA |
