I just bought a Mac Pro and would like to get rid of my aged G4 CRT monitors. If anyone here wants them, I'm happy to send 'em your way. I probably should have done Apple's recycle program, but I guess it's too late. Thanks, Aaronby AaronHAL9000 - Café LA Re: Final Cut to wmv error - 16 years agoTry encoding it completely within your Mac OS.by AaronHAL9000 - Café LA Re: Importing WAV files and lose audio sync - 16 years agoWell, I figured it out. They had 44.1 KHz mono WAV files separated into six tracks for Dolby 5.1. I converted each of them to 48KHz mono AIF and it fixed the speed problem. How they ever decided to redo audio to Dolby 5.1 without a reference point (2-pop anyone?) blows my mind. Should work, though.by AaronHAL9000 - Café LA Importing WAV files and lose audio sync - 16 years agoHey there, I have a client who has imported WAV files and sync of his 90-minute project is about one second off after the start. He has the WAVs he imported on different tracks and they are separate (by scene, I suspect). I looked in the FAQ, but could not find anything specific. Has anyone encountered this problem and what would you do to fix it? Whenever I plug the XL2 into Firewire, iPhoto starts up. If I try to open FCP with the camera hooked up to firewire I get the "whirling cursor of death" and I have to "opt-apple-esc" to force quit. Same thing happens if I start up FCP and then plug in the firewire. From what I've read and heard, the HDPro sounds exactly like what I'm looking for.by AaronHAL9000 - Café LA Re: Advice on buying new editing system... - 16 years agoThanks again, Mike. I gave it a read and it narrowed a few things down for me. I won't be getting a RED (or whatever it's equivalent will be from other vendors with HDcams in development) for at least two years, but I'd like to have the option to edit RED footage. You make a good point in getting what I need, though. I still think the KONA 3 is worthwhile because it just gives me more options forby AaronHAL9000 - Café LA Re: Advice on buying new editing system... - 16 years agoThanks for responding, Mike. The last wedding I did was actually shot with a Canon XL2, but my plan is to upgrade everything to HD over the next six months (either HVX-200 or XDCAM EX with Firestore Drives, which I may end up just renting). Wedding/event is good income, but it's not a place I'd like to stay forever. I'd like to be doing features, documentaries, commercials, and music videos anby AaronHAL9000 - Café LA Advice on buying new editing system... - 16 years agoI've been editing on outdated equipment for awhile now. HD has seemed like such a steep transition. I'd like to take my videography and post work to a higher level and it's obvious I need better equipment. I've done lots of research over the last two months. I'd like to get some outside opinions because, even though vendors have been helpful, I know they ultimately have to make money and have pleby AaronHAL9000 - Café LA |
