But my boss went to the place where we do the editing and he said to me that he re-checked all the settings than it worked. So tommorow ill talk with him and may post the conclusion in here. Thx guys.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Writing Video Process when Outputting - 15 years agoOk im getting closer, i think its a matter of 8bit vs 10bit. There is a setting in the digitizing process that differ of the original timeline settings, im pretty sure its that. Could it be that if the render option is checked for 8 bit but the footage is captured in 10 bit and the timeline is set for 10bit playback output or something in that area of settings, that FCP would have to recalculaby Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Writing Video Process when Outputting - 15 years agoNice idea Jude, Ill take some shot of HDV and ill place them in old sequence of that DVCPRO HD project i was working on, we will see if it does the same when i try to edit to tape. Thx.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Writing Video Process when Outputting - 15 years agoWell it wasnt ticked...so wasnt ticked when i did my renders. But when i ticked it on and use Option-R or apple-R still no render are needed, so i dont understand why FCP write video before the edit to tape. BTW : Did you notice that i used the word '' digitize'' in my post aboveby Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Writing Video Process when Outputting - 15 years agoWhere that settings could be ? Im not the editors on that project but the assistant. So i dont really know if that settings was changed. Thx.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Writing Video Process when Outputting - 15 years agoHere is something i did wich is pretty basic. I simply make a QT movie file with current settings of my final edit, than open a new sequence, drop the QT in and did my edit to tape...and it started on the spot but it didnt solve the writing video process, cuz i wanna know why it does that...lol.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Writing Video Process when Outputting - 15 years agoHey guys, I got a little problem here, wich may not be really a problem. Im working right now on a show shooted on a TV set and the format is 1080i 59.94 HD. I digitized the Show using the Apple ProRes 1080i 59.94 4:2:2 HQ codec. Theres some footage in the timeline wich come from HDV tapes and XDcam tapes. All those shots have been outputed on a HDCAM SR tapes ( Converted inby Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: HDV workflow to Standard def DVD, with a side of multiclip - 15 years agoMan you will learn that this site is HELL of a site...im always amazed when i wrote on it and 5 minutes later someone answered to my problem...those guys here are the best.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Sony HVRZ7U HDV - 15 years agoIts a really a great camera, well builded and got some good scores on review magazine...but its HDV. I would suggest the SONY PMW-EX3 but it depends on the budget you got or want to invest in that new camera. I forgot, the only reason i would buy Z7 Instead of EX3 is that with the Z7 you got the tape backup wich can be a real savior in case of card failure. The great thing about the tape backuby Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: 24p DV to HDCAM - 15 years agoWell the word in french is '' Numériser '' but i think the best way to say it in english is CAPTURE...like i captured the footage... In future i will use that word, or of course as taking your advice...digitize :p Didn't sound rude at all.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: XDCAM and ProRes 422 HQ - 15 years agoI dont really understand what you mean by exporting XDCAM to ProRes. Do you mean Exporting a QT Movie...???. I'll give you an example of what i mean about our post house capturing in ProRes : Here we got several shows shooted in DVCPRO HD. For instance we got one that has been shooted in DVCPRO HD 1080i 59.94. Instead of capturing the footage with the DVCPRO codec in FCP we capture it wiby Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Can I achieve a better image? - 15 years agoAnd since your gonna pay 100.00$ for Natress Film Effect why not buy Natress Standards Conversion in the mean time.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Weird Time code break. - 15 years agoHey jude, we got a meeting at the production house next wednesday to get things straight with them, ill let you guys know what was the problem on the set.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: XDCAM and ProRes 422 HQ - 15 years agoHere we work exclusivly with MAC and FCP and we capture everything HD in ProRes. It work really well you should capture ProRes too.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: MacBook Pro - 15 years agoWell the card with 512mb got more memory...lol. Both will work with FCPS2by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: 1280p? - 15 years agoHey, We worked on a series shooted in dvcpro HD and we were asking ourselves if we wanted to stay with the DVCPRO codec or just captured it with 1080i 422 HQ ProRes. Finally after doing some test, we decided to use the prores codec, the picture is really better. Since you didnt mentionned the delivery format, man you should try it.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Can I achieve a better image? - 15 years agoBuy Natress !!! Period. What can i say, how many time those plug-in fliped me upside dowm cuz they were so great....by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Weird Time code break. - 15 years agoUPDATE : Last year at the start of the season we got the same kind of problems, and the productions house were really hard on us saying that we weren't professional and stuff and we nearly lost the series. So yesterday when it happened, my boss and me after the numerization, we took some tapes that were shooted at RADIO-CANADA (CBC) and went to 3 Differents Post-house (Competitors). And onby Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Editing footage pulled off a DVD with Streamclip in Final Cut 6 - 15 years agoIf you spotcheck your dvd made with compressor on your MAC it will be pixelated, the point is to watch the DVD on a Standard display to see what it really look like.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: footage looks washed out when output to quicktime - 15 years agoWhat is exactly the options your choosing when you export your final timeline to a quicktime conversion. It might be the compression you use or the quality choosed.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Weird Time code break. - 15 years agoWell Jude i just checked and the option was not checked in the capture scratch options.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Weird Time code break. - 15 years agoThe VTR i use for playback and capture is the SONY SRW-5500 HDCAM SR. I got an AJA KONA 3 card in the mac pro and of course the break out box of that card is attaches on that mac pro.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Weird Time code break. - 15 years agoMan response are fast here thats amazing...i love you guys. I will check that as soon as my num is finished since m working right now as i wrote. But it sounds like it might be the problem. THX A LOT, the director is coming in 3 hours im in a rush....sometime i hate my job...lolby Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: 24p DV to HDCAM - 15 years agoNo problem man, i just think it could save you a lot of money since i know exactly how post house work and sometime its easy to lose control of the workflow than at the end you got a bill a lot more heavier than it was suppose to be. cheers....what is the title of the movie ?by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Weird Time code break. - 15 years agoI just checked the link you posted and i can assure you that the drives are not the problem since i personnaly formated them and they were in Extended and not journaled.by Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: Weird Time code break. - 15 years agoWell, here is some more specific info, The tapes i got are : Program (wich is pre-cut in studio) Safety ( Which is exactly the same as program) ISO 1 ISO 2 The first reaction i had after the numerization of the safety was to check if the breaks occured at the same place. It did with + or - 1 secoby Francois-Michel - Café LA Weird Time code break. - 15 years agoHey guys at LAFCPUG whats up ! I got a little bug here and its weird. I wonder if someone ever ran into the same kind of bug in FCP before. I have to numerize tapes wich were recorded on a set. Its a show taped in studio with 3 cameras, of course the timecode on cameras are synced together since its a show taped in the studio of the national broadcaster here in canada. The time code is freeby Francois-Michel - Café LA Re: 24p DV to HDCAM - 15 years agoThere is too much steps in that process for sure ! You can do it in a quicker way and with the same efficiency. The way they say you should do it will cost you a lot. If i had dv footage that i wanted to lay on a HDCAM tape, i would do the edit in the native format wich is DV here than i would simply output my timeline doind the Up Conversion via the Kona 3 card setting in the AJA KONA 3 coby Francois-Michel - Café LA |
