Re: Setting question I edited a seq in a lower compressed format but now need to connect it to 8bit. - 15 years agoHey Nick Thanks I think creating custom seems to have done the trick. I took the 8 bit setting and copied it. changed the dimensions to 1920x1080 pixel aspect ratio square saved it as Witt_trailer_recompress (not ditzy_settings--as tempting as the suggestion was) Then I did the whole media manage recreate timeline thing, reconnected the files to the 8 bit footage and voila! it was fiby ditzydame - Café LA Re: Setting question I edited a seq in a lower compressed format but now need to connect it to 8bit. - 15 years agoNot Window Settings but experimenting with "motion" settings and shrinking the image. I know that is not the right thing to do, but was just checking how much larger the image was than the viewer. I don't know how to change the timeline to be 1920x1080. I tired going to seq settings and then putting those dimensions in the frame size window by using the custom window and it turns itby ditzydame - Café LA Re: Setting question I edited a seq in a lower compressed format but now need to connect it to 8bit. - 15 years agoHey Nick Thank you for the help. I did what you suggested and that did the trick-- almost. The aspect ratio of the file is 1920x1080 And the largest setting that does not distort the footage is the 1280 one... but the footage is way outside the viewer-- and has to be reduced to 70% to make it be seen. if I try and set the window to 1920x1080 it turns it into 1080i and the clip gets veryby ditzydame - Café LA Setting question I edited a seq in a lower compressed format but now need to connect it to 8bit. - 15 years agoI made a film. When the film was finished, I had a company make a 8 bit uncompressed version of the D5 tape so I could have the film digital on my computer--well, at least on a drive attached to my computer. Well, when I tried to edit down the video to a shorter version, I found the footage was too big to play on my system because the system was not powerful enough. So I made a smaller manageaby ditzydame - Café LA Please Come See my Film at Beverly Hills High Def Film Fest - 15 years agoHello, If you're looking for something ELSE to do during the Holiday season, Please come see my film "Witt's Daughter" at the Beverly Hills High Def Film Festival When: Tuesday December 30th during the 5:00 showing Where: Fine Arts Theatre 8556 Wilshire Blvd Beverly Hills, CA 90211 Tickets are $10.00 and can be bought at the theatre or online at or by calling (310)by ditzydame - Show and Tell If it's not one thing its another - 15 years agoI did a little vlog on the last minute happenings on the way to the film festival-- you can check it out here :-) Hope to see you tonight if you're available! click on the blog to see the latest entry Caroleby ditzydame - News and Announcements Check out the great review of my film Witt's Daughter that will be playing at the Hollywood film festival - 15 years agoHere's the welcome video Here's the review Online Review of "Witt's Daughter" How cool is this? The man who they are bringing in to do digital projections says that he needs a DCP 2398i Is that something I can do myself from my uncompressed 8 bit 1080 file? Caroleby ditzydame - Café LA How much space does HD occupy on a hard drive - 16 years agoI have a 40 minute film on d5 tape. I am going to get it digitized so I can turn it into a DvD down the road. Thank you in advance for your answer Caroleby ditzydame - Café LA D5 transfers/DVD and for Scaling - 16 years agoI just got back my film on D5. I would like to get it dubbed to DVD-- however, I also need to Scale it to a larger size. I need these to be two separate things because the scaled version is so I can pay to put it in theater, whereas I would like to have a copy of the film stay the original specs for scaling would be with a minimum projector resolution of 2048 by 1080 pixels; source image formaby ditzydame - Café LA Re: green slug!?!?!?!? - 16 years agoJonathan, Did you get your problem resolved? The green slug happened to me when I upgraded my QT. and I was using HD log pro. so the files that had been done that way went green. I had to upgrade the hd log pro, and then I had to get p2 repair, (the demo worked fine) everything after that seemed to be good. Caroleby ditzydame - Café LA Re: Aspect ratio changes when exporting scene from FC - 16 years agoI figured it out. The difference is because of the compression. It is 720p60, and if I were to export it at Apple HD pro 720p60 then it makes the file look exactly the same in aspect ratio. If I export it in animation then it does it in 1280x720... Its just confusing because when I import it back into the fcp timeline, then I have to render... and this is okay? right? So exporting in animation compression is better than "none" compression-- I just didn't want to lose anything so I was using no compression. so i mistakenly assumed none was better. But I still have a problem I didn't have a problem with the Pixel squishing in A/E since I figured it was fine since it went back to normal when it went back into FCP. i was just moreby ditzydame - Café LA Re: Aspect ratio changes when exporting scene from FC - 16 years agoHi, thanks-- I'm a little confused. It doesn't read 128x720 (although I was surprised that it didn't) No, this is the asset as contained in the final cut capture scratch disk and it reads DVCPRO HD (720p60),960x720 (1248x702) millions ..... normal size 1248x702 pixels current size 1248x702 (actual) while the outputted one reads Format: None, 960x720, Millions+ Normal Size 960x72by ditzydame - Café LA Aspect ratio changes when exporting scene from FC - 16 years agoHello, I Just did a search on this and could find it-- if this is a duplicate question and Its been answered, please direct me to the answer, but here it goes. Okay, I have some assets cut into my film that are 960x720. When I open them in quicktime, it reads actual size is 1248x702. Fine. However, when I export the scen from the timeline for use in AE, the scene information reads 960xby ditzydame - Café LA Re: Export settings for AE - 16 years agoThanks so much for that!
