Re: prepping sequence for online - 15 years agoWhen you make an offline project or decompose FCP should know in the timeline if there if just audio not to capture video. You should not have to do this manuallyby gene05 - Café LA prepping sequence for online - 15 years agoWe just re-captured a sequence but it seemed it re-captured more than it should. The main problem is when there is just audio FCP captures the video too. What do you do for prepping the sequence so that when there is just audio it only captures aduio? We are capturing a 1080i25 10b any extra video is taking up a lot of extra space. Only autosaving.by gene05 - Café LA Re: Corrupting Projects - 15 years agoThe messages we get vary from the project is to new for this version of FCP, this project is un-readable, and the last on is the project is it just crashes FCP when it opens it. We do constantly back up that is the way as the asst. and the director and I we have keep from really losing work. In autosave it usually takes 3 or 4 projects to open the project. That is why we have been back upby gene05 - Café LA Corrupting Projects - 15 years agoI hope you all are doing well and loving your job and life. I have a G5 2.0ghz 4gig ram computer that I has been corrupting projects and we were losing work. We wiped all the drives and reinstalled the OS on a new internal drive that we bought. And reinstalled Final Cut 5.1 because we have been cutting a 450 hour documentary on FCP 5.1. Then this morning I shut down my project left for five minuby gene05 - Café LA Dropping Frames - 16 years agoI am working on a documentary and Final Cut has started dropping frames likes crazy. The only way to play is to quarter frame rate. We are only editing 2 streams of DV. We did change the monitor a couple of days ago. Could it be due to this? Geneby gene05 - Café LA Re: multicam - 16 years agoThanks for your response. The clips that I tried to multicam was shot on DVX-100 and one of the operators forgot to shoot 24pa and I have footage that I can't multicam because of the mixed frame rates. I was trying the conforming to 23.98 but I saw it drifting in multicam. The whole clip would not remain in sync. I have been doing it the old way. Syncing the timeline. Any other helpful iby gene05 - Café LA multicam - 16 years agoI conformed clips from 29.97 to 23.98 to match the rest of the footage. I am not able to multicam footage with framrates that are not the same. Is this still a problem to multicam these conformed clips? Because I have done a few and they are out of sync. The original 23.98 footage I have no problem to sync in multicam. When I used a conformed clip. Seems there is a problem falling out of syncby gene05 - Café LA Re: Best way get rid of flicker in scrolling text? - 16 years agoOn the Final Cut Text I slowed it down made the text a little bigger and used a De-interlace and shift fields and it is doing fine now. Thanks Eugene Gordonby gene05 - Café LA Re: "Best" External Hard Drive? - 16 years agoI agree Go with the G-RAID's or Dulce drives. I cut a whole feature on a G-Raid with no problem. I would not even attempt it with a LaCie. It has no internal fan, unlike the G-Raid or the Dulce drives.
