Sorenson is a much cleaner codec IMHO. MUCH smaller files and clean images out of Cleaner 6: 30 sec spot @ 320x240 / Sorenson Video Compressor / 29.97 fps / QDesign Music 2 Audio Compression - 44.100 khz - 16 bit - Stereo - 32 kbits per sec / No Keyframes / Millions of Colors / 1000 kbits per sec Video Data Rate = 4.2 Megs and is so clear, you can read the DISCLAIMERS. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA

The only thing I use Qmaster2 for is encoding audio in Cleaner 6...and it pretty much $uck$ (audio sounds like it's under water). I haven't heard of it used for any other purpose. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA

There is only one. I am on CS, but it should be close to the same path: Home/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop Settings/Adobe Photoshop Prefs.psp If you have multiple versions of Photoshop on your machine, I suggest you dump the older version.by grafixjoe - Café LA

Ian, If you're talking about rendering in FCP, I wouldn't know because I do not do any grafix work in there (After Effects 6.5 Pro / Cinema 4D / Photoshop / Illustrator / Motion). All due respect, I have to disagree with you because I will be spending A LOT less time Compositing & rendering on a G5 Dual 2.7 Gig / 4 Gig RAM than my Dual 1 Gig G4 / 1.5 Gig RAM (as a matter of fact, it will beby grafixjoe - Café LA

It's a great machine - probably the best Mac I ever owned...but for the newest GFX packages - Motion is dragging (RAM Previews are NECESSARY), and I do a lot more GFX / 3D than a straight FCP Studio Editor (Cinema 4D R9.1 / After Effects 6.5 Pro / Photoshop CS / Ilustrator CS all Eby grafixjoe - Café LA

4 years??? If your EXTREEEEEEMELY LUCKY. I am right at the end of my Quicksilver (2002) G4's lifespan. Only reason I still have it because I can't afford a new one yet. I would have went to a Dual 2.5 the day they came out (glad I waited).by grafixjoe - Café LA

I don't know how anyone can tell you it will be "worth your while" without knowing what you want to do (Direct, DP, Edit, Write, etc). Some people find that the most powerful Titanium Powerbook G4 loaded with RAM is best because it runs FCP HD & Avid Express Pro as well as all the GFX Apps...oh and it's portable. That, a G-RAID and a Transcoder (DAC-10) and you have a mobile studio.by grafixjoe - Café LA

I render 99% of my After Effects / Motion clips for Broadcast in either the Animation Codec or Avid Uncompressed Codec (because they are both super-high quality and they both support Alpha Channels. DV codecs DO NOT SUPPORT ALPHA CHANNELS). - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA

IMHO, Windows Media sucks. You can't step through the movies frame by frame and unless to make huge files, the quality is the worst of any of the "internet" codecs. Do yourself a favor - for controllable, EDITABLE movies stay in the Quicktime wrapper. Sorenson makes FABULOUS encodes using Cleaner 6 and the Sorenson Squeeze Suite came FREE with my Avid Express Pro. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA

Oh, I am fully insured...unfortunately in Florida, there is a 2% deductible on Hurricane Windstorm damage claims. If I need a roof or anything else damaged by a wind storm, I have to pay the first $3,000 out of pocket. Some insurance, huh?by grafixjoe - Café LA

LOL - Sounds like you guys take the quakes in stride. I am glad there was nobody was injured. I am already stocking up on batteries, canned food, etc. for Hurricane Season here in Orlando, FL. (season runs from June 1st through to November). The "experts" say it will be much worse than last year. All I know is after surviving 4 major Hurricanes last year, I'm done.
