Re: Happy Independence Day USA - 17 years agoJeez, Mike! Aren't there any Brits on the forum? Graeme might take his ball and go home Happy 4th LAFCPUG! - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: QT to Flash - 17 years agoQT to WMF = flip4mac: QT to FLASH = Soresnon Squeeze Suite: After Effects 6.5 Pro also renders SWF files. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: an idea for Natress - 17 years agoI think you want Cinema tools or Digieffect Cinelook.by grafixjoe - Café LA DON'T USE MPEG-4!!! - 17 years agoSorenson is a much cleaner codec IMHO. MUCH smaller files and clean images out of Cleaner 6: 30 sec spot @ 320x240 / Sorenson Video Compressor / 29.97 fps / QDesign Music 2 Audio Compression - 44.100 khz - 16 bit - Stereo - 32 kbits per sec / No Keyframes / Millions of Colors / 1000 kbits per sec Video Data Rate = 4.2 Megs and is so clear, you can read the DISCLAIMERS. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Creating a light turn on - 17 years agoYou might look into manipulating After Effects lights with the LUX plug-in. You can get volumetric lights with this awesome plug-in from Trapcode:by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Qmaster2 - 17 years agoDuh...that's QDesign2. What a dork. I'll shut up now.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Qmaster2 - 17 years agoThe only thing I use Qmaster2 for is encoding audio in Cleaner 6...and it pretty much $uck$ (audio sounds like it's under water). I haven't heard of it used for any other purpose. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA re: Photoshop question - 17 years agoThere is only one. I am on CS, but it should be close to the same path: Home/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop Settings/Adobe Photoshop Prefs.psp If you have multiple versions of Photoshop on your machine, I suggest you dump the older version.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Need a cheesy glass breaking transition - 17 years agoIf you WANT cheese, you must partake in "The Emperor of all Cheese" - the Video Toaster. There is a broken glass wipe in there (blech - Wedding Video '91 flashbacks).by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Anybody Else Get This in the Mail? - 17 years ago...looks like "Dave Del Dotto goes Hollywood" (remember him?). Pi$$ing money out the window. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Buying a mac and FC Studio - 17 years agoIan, If you're talking about rendering in FCP, I wouldn't know because I do not do any grafix work in there (After Effects 6.5 Pro / Cinema 4D / Photoshop / Illustrator / Motion). All due respect, I have to disagree with you because I will be spending A LOT less time Compositing & rendering on a G5 Dual 2.7 Gig / 4 Gig RAM than my Dual 1 Gig G4 / 1.5 Gig RAM (as a matter of fact, it will beby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Buying a mac and FC Studio - 17 years ago"My Quicksilver 2002 dual 1.0 GHz system is perking along just fine..." So is mine...and I'm not kidding. It's a great machine - probably the best Mac I ever owned...but for the newest GFX packages - Motion is dragging (RAM Previews are NECESSARY), and I do a lot more GFX / 3D than a straight FCP Studio Editor (Cinema 4D R9.1 / After Effects 6.5 Pro / Photoshop CS / Ilustrator CS all Eby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Need a cheesy glass breaking transition - 17 years agoAfter Effects "Shatter" plug-in.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Buying a mac and FC Studio - 17 years ago4 years??? If your EXTREEEEEEMELY LUCKY. I am right at the end of my Quicksilver (2002) G4's lifespan. Only reason I still have it because I can't afford a new one yet. I would have went to a Dual 2.5 the day they came out (glad I waited).by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Buying a mac and FC Studio - 17 years agoI don't know how anyone can tell you it will be "worth your while" without knowing what you want to do (Direct, DP, Edit, Write, etc). Some people find that the most powerful Titanium Powerbook G4 loaded with RAM is best because it runs FCP HD & Avid Express Pro as well as all the GFX Apps...oh and it's portable. That, a G-RAID and a Transcoder (DAC-10) and you have a mobile studio.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: OT AFI Top 100 Movie Quotes - 17 years agoMike, MFY was the movie that got me interested in Television Studio Production. That line - DEFINITELY in my personal TOP 5! - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: movies or tv shows edited in final cut - 17 years ago<<< WOW look at all this crap that my one question generated hahahahaha any ways thanks to anyone who gave me any advice thats the one thing i can't get enough of especially since i'm not even in the industury "yet" >>> <<< no i didn't make it to that meeting mostly because i live in seattle haha but thats cool napoleon dynamite was done in fcp i love that moby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: movies or tv shows edited in final cut - 17 years agoSean, Seriously...fix the "." (period) and "," (comma) keys missing on your keyboard. If you send a cover letter to a prospective employer and it looks like your posts, they're going to think you write randsom notes for a living.by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Titles and the Animation Codec - 17 years agoI render 99% of my After Effects / Motion clips for Broadcast in either the Animation Codec or Avid Uncompressed Codec (because they are both super-high quality and they both support Alpha Channels. DV codecs DO NOT SUPPORT ALPHA CHANNELS). - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Compressing to Internet from FCP - 17 years agoIMHO, Windows Media sucks. You can't step through the movies frame by frame and unless to make huge files, the quality is the worst of any of the "internet" codecs. Do yourself a favor - for controllable, EDITABLE movies stay in the Quicktime wrapper. Sorenson makes FABULOUS encodes using Cleaner 6 and the Sorenson Squeeze Suite came FREE with my Avid Express Pro. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA OT: Happy Father's Day! - 17 years agoSALUTE! To all of you doing what we do to make life better for our kids. Keep up the good work. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: television reception effect - 17 years ago3rd party plug-in - Tinderbox 3 "Bad TV" has controls for all the static, screen roll, jitters, snow, and more associated with Bad TV reception. Excellent tool. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: General Question. - 17 years agoYeah... story is #1. BUT... if like you say you have "one hour of *really bad* boring footage", a nice (tasteful) FX treatment and sound FX will absolutely save the day. - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: Green Screen / Blue Screen - 17 years agoGREAT LIGHTING is the key. There is another way that I just heard about that looks friggin' AMAZING...it's called Ultra 2 by Serious Magic: - Joeyby grafixjoe - Café LA Re: OT: Quake damage offer - 17 years agoOh, I am fully insured...unfortunately in Florida, there is a 2% deductible on Hurricane Windstorm damage claims. If I need a roof or anything else damaged by a wind storm, I have to pay the first $3,000 out of pocket. Some insurance, huh?by grafixjoe - Café LA Re: OT: Quake damage offer - 17 years agoLOL - Sounds like you guys take the quakes in stride. I am glad there was nobody was injured. I am already stocking up on batteries, canned food, etc. for Hurricane Season here in Orlando, FL. (season runs from June 1st through to November). The "experts" say it will be much worse than last year. All I know is after surviving 4 major Hurricanes last year, I'm done. There's not enough wby grafixjoe - Café LA |
