Tim, check out the Film -> NTSC option in my standards conversion software at www.nattress.com You might be best using it to make a 1080i60 master from the 1080p24 using my software, and then use the K2 to downconvert that to SD, as it should do a better job of the downconversion than FCP (although I'm working on that for a later release). 4:4:4 is tough even for direct access storage, never mind a SAN. On Xsan, you'd want at least 2 Xserve RAIDS just to get the speed needed for one client. I'd go an ask some questions over at the Creative Cow Xsan forum where actuall users can probably give you more advice, but it's not going to be cheap or easy whichever solution you go with. With the new Panasonic P2 HD camera on it's way, it would make sense to go a DVCProHD route to HD, which is much more affordable than the uncompressed route. However, I'd still recommend getting an Xsan setup for any academic editing situation. Went to a demo at U of Ottawa and they were using it in a 5 station DV setup, and they could do DVCProHD too if they wanted. Yes - Xsan isn't cheap, butby Graeme Nattress - Café LA

Bold would be fine for your own posts, so you can spot them easier, but if everyone appears bold, it might be a bit ugly agreed.
