This is a very sexy release. Its a big jump for me as i have been 50/50 on PP & FCP through tens of projects. I was xml'ing to fcp so that i could use color but now they have speed grade which looks/feels a lot like BM Looks. I have not seen any info on compatibility with FX Factory or even if they improved the transitions at all. I hope they did cause some of the plugs i have in FCPby J.Corbett - Adobe Premiere Pro CC

Looks great but its missing hdmi out. Maybe everyone is moving to sdi after all. love the thunderbolt out option though. It doesn't look very good for handheld operation but i am sure a kit is coming. You can't beat it for the price of the package.by J.Corbett - Café LA

Its easier than that but i will tell you that there will be distortion. create a dv ntsc sequence drag the footage to the TL (timeline) fcp will ask if you would like to make the SEQ match the footage - say no once the footage is on the TL dbl click to load it to the viewer click the motion tab look for distortion and you will see that there is a number there change this nby J.Corbett - Café LA

WoW I wonder if Seagate & WD run cooler by design. I am a Hitachi guy, But i wish my 2,1 could run that cool. The drive that failed was a Seagate but it ran at 112*F. How often you blow out the dust?by J.Corbett - Café LA

You will still have to track matte the face with beauty box. I have not used it but i have seen it used. Its an overall softener that targets the skin tone range. However, the skin tone range is also in the rest of the frame and that is effected also. The same could be accomplished by ... Last year i had my 1st drive fail completely. It was because the head had over heated and melted, as they told me. He also told me this: The inside of a Mac is hotter than a PC and for every drive that you put in, this temperature goes up. Try not to fill all bays and your other 3 drives will run cooler. Yes, Nvidia is where i would go. However, the hack on the newer GTX 5-series only works on post 2008 machines. The gtx 285, Quadro 4000, and i believe the GT120. 4,1 would be about 2008 so i would check to see if that fit. You know I tried the hack for the GTX570 on my 2,1 and there was no go so i have it sitting here waiting for the mac pro update so i can get this card in. Sadly i am usby J.Corbett - Café LA

seinhieser HD380pro is thats too much at about 299. then try seinhieser HD280. You will hear a lot of people saying that some other head set near these prices are better but your gonna have to spend 699.+ to beat the hd380.by J.Corbett - Café LA

That was in Premier Pro cs4 also. I started in cs4 as a way of pulling entire TLs into AE. I still have automatic duck also from the pre cs4 days. i like premier. The way you CC in premier is a bit different but it better than fcp for CC (more native curves). I would say that PPcs5+ and MC are the best nle's out now. There is more native integration in PP4+ than MC but they both are excellenby J.Corbett - Café LA

After winging it for years. I sketch out stick men with the worse BG's imaginable to illustrate my idea of the shoot. Its a lucky day when i can get 60% of what i was sketching. I average about 22mbps down but only 2 - 2.3mbps up. The up is my problem. I was exploring this option because my stored drives are taking over the storage area. I have 2 climate controlled cabinets (3ft tall 2ft wide w/ 6 shelves) and as soon as i store another 4 drives It will be time to build another cabinet which may not fit. the way i would like. If you are color correcting in fcp you can only go so far. At a certain level of chroma changes fcp is gonna be struggling. Don't get me wrong i have seen some nice results there from some but i would suggest you give Color a try if you have given up on keying. Both Motion and AE do a much better job at keying than FCP. If it were in my budget i would go for a 12core and be happy with that but I too am wondering about the next Macpro as every update in the last 7months has been ANTI-PRO user. As i read all of the speculation on the next Sandy Bridge processor macpro it seems like Apple is kicking us out. They seem to be going with more consumer products like samsung does. I have been trying to use Crash Plan to back up 2 drives that run jobd. This service is extra slow but i know that people use this as a fall back. Currently, crash plan is saying that it will take 76days to back-up 467gigs (its my main drive or applications drive) I backed up my laptop with this same service, but it did not take as long (322gigs). so.... what is the best online/cloud backby J.Corbett - Café LA

FCP7 will load to lion as i have seen numerous post with people running it that way. Apple has this on their site also. Most of the imacs and up can do the job for this application of use. (2.4 dual and higher / 4gigs ram plus) However, I might suggest that you go with Adobe Production Premium CS5 or higher. Its much more timeless than fcp7. mac mini .... yeah that will work but it is not as portable as a 15" MBP. Once you get into peripherals the mini is in the same ball park as the used MBP. Including you dp1 you would have maybe 3 pieces to carry. All would fit into a well designed laptop bag that you could wear like a 1985 gucci link necklace with a Mercedes medallion.
