Check with whoever shot it to see if it was shot in non-dropframe (30fps) as opposed to ntsc dropframe (29.97fps). Try changing the editing timebase in your sequence setting to "30fps".by strypes - Café LA Re: wrong sequence settings...how to correct? - 16 years ago> It made sense to simply > cut/paste the clips into a new sequence with the > proper settings, but the results were not as > expected. Do you mean SD NTSC? That would result in a difference in frame sizes as HD has more lines than SD. I was once trying to output HD on SD, and i realized that it didn't recompress the aspect ratio when i copied and pasted the clips, but it workeby strypes - Café LA Re: Compressor vs. Quicktime Export for h.264 - 16 years ago"medium quality" would mean 2 different things on 2 different machines, and i don't believe there is an industry standard for "medium quality". It is possible to compress it to the same size (i hardly do anything for the web, so check with someone else for a good data rate in export). What compressor does, is export the clips directly off your timeline, avoiding double compby strypes - Café LA Re: Art of the Edit? - 16 years ago> My favourite British songwriter > is Elvis Costello, but his biggest enemy is often > his own intelligence, and his temptation to > succumb to his own clever ideas. Yes, it is quite irritating! I got onto 6.0.2 to try it out- the render feature (not losing render files) seems like a dream for fcp 6. And i absolutely have to get used to this awkward snapping feature now. I drag a clip, realize my snapping is off, turn it on, and after the clip is shifted, snapping turns off!by strypes - Café LA Re: Art of the Edit? - 16 years ago> but it's as if the film > establishment wouldn't allow us to point out flaws > in these films. Your boss is wrong that the attention span of the viewers is 10 secs. It isn't 20 or 30 either. It is how long you can hold the attention of the viewer, and that depends on how much content you have and how well it flows.
