Re: Conform 60fps tp 24 fps for FCP7 - 10 years agoClip wrap has given me some beautiful footage for final cut pro 7 . My footage was .mts from AVCHD and clip wrap made it apple pro res. FCP took it in no problem, no crashes, nothing. the only thing to watch out for is don't accidently let Clip Wrap just "rewrap" the footage with a .mov suffix on it. That footage looks bad and causes FCP to crash and it's not uncompressed. I doby Rocker - Café LA Re: Clip wrap - 10 years agoWow! Okay Thanks much. I thought I was doing something wrong. So then, all video that we watch in the U.S. is 29.97? Even in these days of 24 p Cine cameras and High Def and wide screen 1920 X1080 TVs, etc.,? But now that we have digital broadcast, all new final product (DVD, Blue Ray, broadcast TV) is progressive right? No more interlaced?by Rocker - Café LA Re: Please look at compressor forum posting - 10 years agoI "solved my problem". I converted the .mov files (that were really just re-wraped low res by clip wrap to be recognized by the FCP 7) using mpeg streamclip. They don't look as good as the files I converted to pro res directly from .mts. On the pans, the trees and poles jerk sideways. looks like a really bad compression decompression problem but at least I delivered the job.by Rocker - Compressor - Media Compression and Conversion Clip wrap - 10 years agoHere's an oddball thing happening. I take .mts files that were shot at 24 p in my Cannon G20 video camera and convert them to apple pro res (not HQ) . When I import them into FCP 7 , click on them to select them, go to Edit menu and item properties, it says they are 29.97 fps. Does that make any sense to anyone? Thanksby Rocker - Café LA Re: Please look at compressor forum posting - 10 years agoHi guys, I'm still in deep doogie over here. I have dragged my files into Compressor. I have set the setting I want (pro res) and place I want it to go to (same drive as I started on ) but I get a small skinny window at the top asking about "clusters" (which have never heard of until today) . It will not allow me to "submit". When I go to batch monitor, it says I have no cby Rocker - Compressor - Media Compression and Conversion Re: Compressor and Clusters - 10 years agoI guess I'm not being clear. I already did the low res re wrap. I know it's wrong. I need pro res. But now that I did the wrong thing, I don't think I can fix it in clip wrap. I can't go back to .mts and I can't go to pro res from the low res rewrap.mov sorry for not being clear enough..by Rocker - Café LA Re: Compressor and Clusters - 10 years agoHi Derek, you remembered I was the new clip wrap guy!!!! problem is, I converted about 9 .mts files using the low res "rewrap" mode of Clip Wrap that first night I had it. Now , those files don't really work in FCP 7. they make it crash. It really needs the great big uncompressed pro res files and compressor is all i got. Clip Wrap wont' do pro res from the re wrapped files. andby Rocker - Café LA Compressor and Clusters - 10 years agoHi, I am very new to Compressor and have just one ( i think) problem. I'm trying to convert some .mts files from a Canon G 20 (that I partially converted "re-wrapped" in Clip Wrap to .mov files) to pro res for use in FCP 7. I have dragged the files in the conversion area of Compressor, put in the setting and the destination. But when I hit "submit" I get this windowby Rocker - Café LA Re: matching clips to sequence settings - 10 years agoThanks Strypes, I bet that will work. I'll try it this afternoon. thanks again!!!by Rocker - Café LA matching clips to sequence settings - 10 years agoHi, I've converted some .mts ACVHD files that are 1920X1080 24p pro res HQ 48K audio into FCP7. I set my audio video settings in FCP 7 to that exact spec but I'm having 2 problems. 1. when I go to match sequence settings I can't find that exact spec. 2. when I import the clips into my project and drag them to the timeline I get a green render bar which requires lengthy render timby Rocker - Café LA Re: File size limit - 10 years agohi everyone thank you all for the responses the clips are coming off the card with the 2 Gig file size. i am going to external hard drive but it is formatted Mac OS extended. I'm glad someone else is using clip wrap with good results. I have heard that the " trying to bring in the whole file structure and all the .mts files and bring them right in to FCP 7" doesn't work thaby Rocker - Café LA File size limit - 10 years agoHi, I just bought a Canon G20 camcorder. It shoots AVCHD files and stores them onto SDXC cards. All my clips in this current project are 45 mins to 1 hour long. When I put these cards into a reader and them drag the mts files into my computer, the video clips are split up and are only 16 mins. 20 secs. long. Does anyone know why? Is there any reason that I should connect the camera with HDMI cable and capture in real time (like we did with mini DV tape and firewire)? back in the good old days?by Rocker - Compressor - Media Compression and Conversion Re: How to convert .mts MPEG-1 to Quicktime or other compatible with FCP - 10 years agoWow Derek. I just got a Canon G20 camcorder (shoots in AVCHD format and makes mts files). I need to download my footage from the SDXC card tonight and them convert them to .mov files. Is that correct? Is that the right procedure? If so, what is the best program to do it???. I read on the web that MPEG streamclip won't convert mts files. That's probably for something going to a full high def blu ray project, right? I was under the understanding that I can't just change the frame rate-time base after I had put my stills into the time line. Is that true.? If yes, that means that I pretty much have to start all over with my project, right? the haby Rocker - Café LA Timeline playing stuttering issues - 11 years agoHi I have a fairly simple FCP 7 project made up of stills cut to beats of music...about every 4 bars so aren't that many stills. FCP7 asked me to type in my serial number, so I pulled out my Apple discs where it's printed and I typed it in. FCP says that serial number is invalid. Some other places on the web say that many people seem to be having this problem. FCP asks for your serial number and then tells you it's invalid.
