Phantom Audio clips becoming invisible on timeline--but still play - 11 years agofcpx-10.0.5 Yesterday i was editing a project and suddenly some audio clips from one event file became invisible on the timeline screen. The clips continued to be audible on playback, but some disappeared from view. Occasionally they would reappear when I navigated back and forth. But then others would disappear. Much of our audio comes in via phone. I have been manually using key frames to minimize audio peaks My experience is mostly as an editor/producer. I am used to relying on pro sound people to fine tune my audio. To use Motion at all on this computer will require an upgraded video card (such as the ATI Radeon 9800). If I invested in such a card (about $259) would I be able to use Motion, or would I just be wasting my money? I would appreciate some knowledgeable answers. Are there approved brands of DDR SDRAMM? Are there brands to avoid? I want the best value price-wise, but I don't want to invite problems. Samsung claims that their memory is what Apple uses. The copies play fine on my Mac G4 computer and on my home Sony player and on my son's media center player. However, I sent one of the copies to a client back east and he was unable to play it on any of his machines.
