Re: Horizontal Banding on HD Uncompressed File and DVDS made from it - 13 years agoThanks for the info guys, is there anything I can do with the file in the meantime to get outputs that don't have these lines or is it useless?by Karan - Café LA Re: Horizontal Banding on HD Uncompressed File and DVDS made from it - 13 years agoHere's another still, from an SD Prores I made from the original Uncompressed HD File, as mentioned before these lines are on any dvds made too Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have to deliver dvds of the program in a few days and have no idea what to do about the lines.by Karan - Café LA Re: Horizontal Banding on HD Uncompressed File and DVDS made from it - 13 years agoStrypes, this is the finished film as a file, I'm not working with the rushes. Basically the film was onlined on a nitris and I was given the finished film in this 'none' codec uncompressed.by Karan - Café LA Re: Vertical Banding on HD Uncompressed File and DVDS made from it - 13 years agoSorry I also mistyped 'vertical' when I shouldve said 'horizontal' the codec is 'none'.by Karan - Café LA Horizontal Banding on HD Uncompressed File and DVDS made from it - 13 years agoHi I've got a 10 minute project that is an Uncompressed Quicktime, Codec: NONE. It's 25fps 1920x1080. The source material was 35mm. After getting the file I ran it on FCP on my machine which is a MBPro and I noticed some strange banding going on in the FCP viewer, I assumed it was just the viewer being inaccurate. Weirdly, every file I've made from this QT has had this banding, weather iby Karan - Café LA Re: Disk Space for DPX - 14 years agoThanks for the info Jeff! Incase you're curious it's 35 Anamorphic we'll be scanning. Kby Karan - Café LA Disk Space for DPX - 14 years agoHi Does anyone know how much disk-space around 10mins worth of 35mm scanned at 4K to DPX would take up? Thanks! Kby Karan - Café LA Re: FCP 6.0.5 suddenly demands a serial number! - 14 years agoI lost an FCP Serial number when I was applying for the Crossgrade few years back, I emailed apple the receipt of the original purchase and they sent back a Serial number. See if you can find the receipt.by Karan - Café LA Re: Shuttle Pro - 14 years agoActually, I found the shuttle very speedy when I was using it, it's programmable.by Karan - Café LA Re: Shuttle Pro - 14 years agoI've had the Shuttle Pro v2 for years, and haven't used it in years. I did find it useful but the damn button covers fall off and disappear. Was planning on using it but there's no Snow Leopard driver yet. It can be useful.by Karan - Café LA Re: Silly Encoding question - Sorry - 14 years agoHi Okay, I won't send to compressor. Thanks Jeff.by Karan - Compressor - Media Compression and Conversion Silly Encoding question - Sorry - 14 years agoHi Sorry if this is a dumb 'how long is a piece of string' type of question but I've been away from FCP / Compressor for quite a few years and now I'm on a new project and have sinced upgraded to new gear that I've not tested much. Okay, I need to encode for DVD via compresser - a ten minute project I'm doing at 25fps PAL DV settings in FCP 7 on a Macbook Pro 2.66GHz, 4GB RAM, Snow Leopardby Karan - Compressor - Media Compression and Conversion Re: Batch Export Stills from Timeline? - 14 years agoThanks all. Okay, got the markers working in the canvas, seemingly the notes only show up for ones marked onto the Sequence rather than one for clips, so I'll just mark the sequence from now on.by Karan - Café LA Re: Batch Export Stills from Timeline? - 14 years agoYep, no idea why they won't show up.by Karan - Café LA Re: Batch Export Stills from Timeline? - 14 years agoI'd already tried that but the marker notes wouldn't show upby Karan - Café LA Re: Batch Export Stills from Timeline? - 14 years agoCool, thanks. One more thing, I'm on FCP 7 and in the videos on apple's site there seems to be overlays of the marker notes on the Canvas but I can't seem to get any of these overlays when I'm working. I'm marking bits that need foley etc. Any solution?by Karan - Café LA Batch Export Stills from Timeline? - 14 years agoHi I remember reading something about this somewhere. Can anyone guide on how to automate an export of stills from all the clips in my sequence? Thanksby Karan - Café LA Re: Nested Sequences and EDLs - 14 years agoI've found nests useful in the past for certain things but agree they can be a headache. This project is fairly simple so I'll stay away from them. Thanks for the tips and banter guys. Any more tips on what to be aware of in EDL-land are more than welcome. Best, Kby Karan - Café LA Re: Nested Sequences and EDLs - 14 years agoThanks Guys. Will keep my project and timeline super clean. Kby Karan - Café LA Nested Sequences and EDLs - 14 years agoHello People, I'm working on an offline of a project that will go to DI in the end from an FCP EDL. Is it safe to use nested sequences when working on something that goes out with an EDL? Just wanted to check if nesting will confuse the list. Thanks Kby Karan - Café LA Re: FCP to DI Workflow Advice - 14 years agoThanks nick Since you were differentiating. From Discussion with the DP, final master will be 2K footage on HDCamSR for projection and possibility or freedom to goto print if need be. Does going to print affect going 24 or 25? Sorry for silly questions.by Karan - Café LA Re: FCP to DI Workflow Advice - 14 years agoWe're shooting at 25 does that alter anything?by Karan - Café LA Re: FCP to DI Workflow Advice - 14 years agoHi Thanks for the responses guys But if I'm in the UK I don't have to run it at 24@25 right? Because it's all 25 here?by Karan - Café LA FCP to DI Workflow Advice - 14 years agoHi Haven't posted here in years, used to post alot way back when under the name Sven, you guys were always very helpful. I need some advice on a workflow. In a week's time I shall be getting footage which originated on 35mm. From the lab we'll be getting rushes on DVcam offline with in FCP, our end stage will be DI on a baselight system, conforming with scan of the used shots at 4K.by Karan - Café LA Re: Music Video, High FPS - 16 years agoUhhh.... At the bottom of my last post it mentions the camera, I don't know if you are following but we shot Film.by Karan - Show and Tell Re: Music Video, High FPS - 16 years agoHey Corbett, Thanks for your comments. This may answer your quesstion about "How we Did it": All the hearts were released on set, we shot at 150 frames a second so it streched out the motion and time a bit, we had a wind machine to blast them and to get them to dance in the air we just released them from the highest point we could, must've been more than 15/10 stories maybe evby Karan - Show and Tell Re: Colouring Text in Motion - 16 years agoNo worries, I figured out how to colour the text.by Karan - Motion Colouring Text in Motion - 16 years agoHi I really don't have much Motion experience, so excuse my ignorance. I'm making menus for a DVD SP project, I imported in Quicktime of the Back Ground video from FCP and am now putting some text onto it in motion. All is good until i try to change the colour of the font, I select the text, hit APPLE-T for the Font Menu to pop up, then select my colour but it does nothing to the text.by Karan - Motion PSD's in DVDSP - 16 years agoHi guys, We made a DVD in DVDSP, all the text on the menus were made in DVDSP, the backgrounds are all exports from FCP. All text is appearing pixelated when viewed on Monitors and TV's so we want to re do them in Photoshop. Here's my question, If i import a PSD into DVDSP and overlay onto a background, am I able to move photoshop layers around as I please in DVDSP so I can get the text toby Karan - DVD Studio Pro |
