9000 or 10000 - 12 years agoHi guys, Im currently about to put a 4 minute movie teaser on vimeo, and i am using the youtube settings in compressor. Im just wondering what the best value for the kb/s would be? Im want to have flawless quality and In the vimeo guidlines it says 7182kb/s or something ,but to me that is far less quality. If anyone has any experience in this are could you please help me out. Thank heaps!by damo - Compressor - Media Compression and Conversion Re: Log and transfer vs Pro Res compressor - 12 years agoHi guys, Thanks for that... So for my Vimeo Clips im working on, to ensure i am enhancing the best possible quality, i should continue to log and transfer me footage directly of the EX1R card, render in prores. Then when im done, 'send to' compressor and add the 9000kb/s youtube settings onto it..Is this all thats needed to maintain the best quality? Thanksby damo - Café LA Log and transfer vs Pro Res compressor - 12 years agoHi Guys, Ive just started using me EX1r.... And im wondering to maintain the best quality in my workflow, would it be best to simply log and transfer my clips off the card directly into final cut pro? Or would it be best to transfer the clips to pro res in compressor, and then bring them into final cut pro? Would appreciate any knowlege here... Thanks guysby damo - Café LA compressor tweaks for vimeo - 12 years agoHi guys, I got some extremely helpful advice about the vimeo droplets and you also sent me some droplets, which i am so very grateful for. I want to create two sepret droplets in compressor that will give me the best quality results for a). a DVD/film and b). a clip in Vimeo. I want these two droplets as i am unsure about whether or not i am using the correct settings, and i want to maximise the quality of my production to the best possible seby damo - Compressor - Media Compression and Conversion Re: Footage formats - 13 years agoThanks heaps Nick. Do you have a preview or anything for your film? Yeah i am capable of de-interlacing in the post, as my camera is a sony hdr-fx1000, and it allows me to shoot in interlaced. Do you just use the standard de-interlace filter used on final cut pro? Or is there any recomended filters or anything that do a better job? Thanksby damo - Café LA Re: Footage formats - 13 years agoThanks heaps for the feedback guys. Appreciate it. However, im from Australia, so am not offered the choice of shooting at 24p? So should i just assume 25p whenever you guys say 24p? Also im not sure what this talk about pulldown is though? Is this relevant to me?by damo - Café LA Re: Footage formats - 13 years agoYes im planning to have the two differnt camera type footage in the same timeline. I use my fx1000 for waterhousing footage and the ex1r when shooting from land. In fact, I would capture the HDV footage in as ProRes, and transcode the EX1 footage to ProRes before the edit. How do i capture the footage as ProRes? Is this just a matter of changing the 'Easy Setup'? Also how do i transcode theby damo - Café LA Re: Footage formats - 13 years agoOh ok, so would you reccoment i shot 720 on my EX1R? Also you say about ProRes, is that any good? In my timeline render options its got the option of 'ProRes' or 'same as sequence' what would you guys reccomend? Also what are the differences in quality when playing back 720 footage as opposed to 1920 footage on a TV screen? Thanksby damo - Café LA Re: Footage formats - 13 years agoHow do i convert 720p to 1080p? Is that just a matter of increasing the scale in motion?by damo - Café LA Footage formats - 13 years agoHi guys, I recently got a sony EX1R, which allows me to shoot in the formats 1920, 1080, and 720. The 720 appeals to me because i can shoot in 60fps, which will allow great slow mo effects. However im using a sony hdr fx1000 as my secondary camera, which only shoots 1080, so half the footage in the timeline will be shot in 1080 and the other half whatever i decide to shoot with on the EX1Rby damo - Café LA blury - 15 years agoHi guys, I've currently finished a one minute surfing film for media class, however once i burnt it onto dvd i noticed it was a bit blury. I chose to 'export using compressor' and once into compressos i chose the 'DVD best quality 90 mins' settings in the 'dvd' menu for my file. I then opened up a dvd studio pro project and chose Pal SD. Just wondering where i may have gone wrong? thankby damo - DVD Studio Pro Format - 15 years agoHello there, I am from Australia and am creating a surfing dvd using my new macbook pro and new high definition camera. I have lots of footage from my new camera, however i also have lots of footage from my old camera which is a sony dv camera. When both types of footage are on the one timeline, which is a dv pal timeline, the hd footage appears as a rectangle and leaves a black line on top and bby damo - Café LA |
