Re: "Collect for Output" - 16 years agoActually, I never keep any template files or anything other than applications in my internal hard drive. I do all my work on external drives which I share with a workstation that is outputting to tape or capturing. I do have each project in its own folder, with its own job number and which contains the FCP file and the media that was captured for that project. What then sometimes happens is thatby Marla - FCP Feature Requests "Collect for Output" - 16 years agoAlso I can't take the time when my boss is sitting with me and going over a scene to find all these clips and copy them.by Marla - FCP Feature Requests Re: "Collect for Output" - 16 years agoMaybe I should have been more precise. What I meant was that I would like FCP to collect the "media" that the clips in my timeline refer to from the hard drives. Sometimes I am sitting with my boss and he asks me to pull in something from another scene or one of our logos, which are photoshop files. Then I would need to import the file into the browser and also copy it from the hard drby Marla - FCP Feature Requests "Collect for Output" - 16 years agoI'd like to see something along the lines of the Quark Xpress command "collect for output" (at least it used to be called that - not sure if it still is, as I haven't used Quark for some time), so that when I give an FCP file to someone else (for instance the guy who makes our DVDs), all the clips that are used on the timeline will be collected into one folder (even if they are on diffeby Marla - FCP Feature Requests Re: Waveform differs from sound - 16 years agoPlease ignore the above. It seems he hadn't emptied the trash after trashing the preferences and the waveform caches. Now he has emptied it and the problem seems to be fixed. We still don't know which caused the problem. Thanks for your response. He is editing a scene where 2 cameras are used. The waveform on the timeline does not match the sound when it is listened to. We have tried trashing the waveform cache and also the preferences and have restarted the computed each time. We have also deleted the clip from the timeline and pulled it down aby Marla - Café LA Re: HDV print to video conforming time - 16 years agoHi, Nick, Thanks for your response. I'm not sure what you mean by "add bars and boards". Do you mean the color bars? These scenes are recorded on an HDV camera and I edit them in HDV and put them to tape so that my boss can review them and give me any changes. He wants to keep the HDV version for when we go to HDV in the future. I make my backup tapes in HDV. I used to then recaptby Marla - Café LA HDV print to video conforming time - 16 years agoHi, hope someone can help. I'm using FCP6 to edit HDV scenes that are typically 40 to 60 minutes long. When I want to get them to tape on a Sony deck and choose print to video - entire media, I get a prgroess bar that says "conforming HDV video" before it will print to tape. This usually takes around 15 to 20 minutes, but some scenes (more and more lately) are taking 2, 3, 4 or 5 hours!by Marla - Café LA |
