Re: FCP X lag/pause while editing multicam - 11 years agoUPDATE SOLUTION!!! Wow....I am soooooooooooooo stoked that I figured this out! So apparently the timeline has to be collapsed media NOT showing all the different layers of media. Also, to make the decision edits you have to have the blade tool in the muticam viewer while playing clip from timeline! I know I have seen tutorials where they were NOT using the blade and making edits via the browser mby mic - Café LA - X Re: FCP X lag/pause while editing multicam - 11 years agoOne more thing I should mention is that when the media is playing in FCP X Multicam view, there is absolutely ZERO PAUSES. It is ONLY when I make decision cuts that it pauses, changes the angle, then resumes play.by mic - Café LA - X Re: FCP X lag/pause while editing multicam - 11 years agoThank you for the response. I took a break from FCP X and went back to FCP 7 since I could not figure out the pausing issue. I am now trying FCP X again since the new update 10.0.4 I would like to start using FCP X and getting familiar with the GUI but, I can't edit a production if I'm going to have 1/2-1 sec pause when cutting between cameras. This is no way to edit a production. So I did a tesby mic - Café LA - X FCP X lag/pause while editing multicam - 12 years agoHas anyone experienced FCP X having a slight pause in multicam viewer when cutting between cams? It acts like the frame pauses for a few frames before cutting to next cam. Older versions of FCP does not do this. How annoying. I have a 27" imac with i7 processor, 12 GB Ram, upgraded graphics card. Also, the footage is all standard def. I am editing between only 3 cams. Problem: When I am editing 3 standard def clips in multicam view, the play head will play through with edits for approximately 20 sec or so then, stop on it's own and place play head back to the start of where I edited. It makes the edits and plays back fine however, this is anby mic - Café LA Re: quarry clips in timeline - 16 years agoAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....You IS the MAN! See I knew there had to be a way to do that just wasn't schooled on that. Of course using the find all and pasting attributes would be the safest way to do this. I'm not too crazy about the idea of reconnecting to a NEW master clip. Just seems like there would be room for error or glitches. By the way, when I mentioned "deleting the master clip" whaby mic - Café LA quarry clips in timeline - 16 years agoQuestion: Is there a way to quarry certain clips in a timeline? If I wanted to copy and past filters in a timeline and only apply them to one particular master clip. I know that I could hit the cntrl key and manually select all the particular clips but surely their is another way. EXAMPLE: 3 different master clips in a browser. From what I am reading, it does not look like FCP 5 can handle HDV 24p. Am I totally wrong here? My friend just ordered the camera and I will be editing all his footage. I am getting a bit worried that I will not be able to edit his footage with FCP 5. They can't keep up. A matter of fact I just bought a Terabyte Sata II raid drive. The problem that I had was not that it was LATENT or anything to the fact. The problem was having the audio in the timeline>showing waves>and playing audio where there is obviously NO wby mic - Café LA audio where there are no waves... - 17 years agoThis is totally weird. Just thought I would ask if anyone had this problem too. I have FCP5 running on G5 dual 2 gig processor, 2 gig ram, Tiger OSX 10.3.4 O.K. here the deal. I just burned a disk and watched it and the audio was out of sync with the video. I run the 2 monitors and have to use my camera as a way to get the video to a tv. However, I don't think this is a good way to be viewing the video ie., screen jumps around occasionally. I am wanting to upgrade to a better graphics card that can handle (at least) 1080p HD. I did recapture the media with "capture now" and set the "in" and "out" points to the precise logged media after importing and it still didn't matter. On some of the tapes it worked but there were some tapes that it did not work AND unfortunatley, If one tape is off, then the whole project is screwed in a multicam edit. Mike, I do have sufficient pre-rolls on the media I am importing. Here is what I did. I was on here last night searching for some answers about why I was unable to batch capture offline media. I right click on the media that is offline and do a "batch capture".
