FCP 10.3.1 crashing upon share - 7 years agoHi. I just upgraded to FCP 10.3.1 and started working on a new film project. I've tried sharing different projects, but all seems to crash...Any advice?by davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X spinning beach ball from Compound clips...I think - 11 years agoHi. I am working on a project with a bunch of interviews that are compound clips created by Synchronizing clips within Final Cut Pro. I'm finding now that some of these clips are causing extreme system problems (spinning beach balls). It seemed to happen right after I put one of these clips into the project sequence. I have read a lot of others are having problems with compound clips in FCPXby davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X Transcoding question - 11 years agoI'm not sure whats going on here. I've began editing some projects in Final Cut ProX. My workflow is: copying all of my Canon 5D MarkII footage to a separate hard drive, which is my backup of the original files. From that hardDrive, I import all of the files, with transcode checked. Editing has been OK, but bigger projects are becoming very slow. I just noticed now, however, that when I click onby davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X Importing photos for time lapse -- Slows down system - 11 years agoI have several time lapse sequences I shot in Raw format on 5D Mark II. I read to keep these in the raw format when importing into fcpX, but it seems to be slowing down my system, takes a VERY long time to import into fcp, and gives me spinning beach balls...Any advice? Thanks. Davidby davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X Share to Youtube problems - 11 years agoHi, I am having trouble when I go to share a project to youtube within Final Cut ProX. I'm wondering what frame rate I should use on the GoPro, since they still haven't released the 24 fps firmware (when will that be?) Should I shoot it with PAL which will give me 25fps? That looks like the closest...thanks!by davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X PAL to NTSC - 11 years agoHi, I just finished editing a project in PAL (25P) and the client wants a few dvd's in NTSC, as well...what are my options to output ntsc (can I do this within fcpX?) thanksby davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X Re: fcp 7 to x - 11 years agoI'm also Stil working on FCP X 10.03...shall I update to 10.05 for more stability??by davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X Re: fcp 7 to x - 11 years agobtw, I am on a I Mac, Version 10.7.4, 2.93 GH Intel COre i7, 8GB 1333 MHzby davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X Re: fcp 7 to x - 11 years agoHi. Is 7 to X the only and/or best way for this?by davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X fcp 7 to x - 11 years agoHi. I have a project I shot on tape and edited 2 years ago on fcp7. The client asked me to do a follow-up on the story and I shot it with 5DMarkII and now want to edit it on x. They want me to make a few changes to the original and then add on another 2-3 minutes to the end of the video. So, basically, I want to take the old project on 7 and upgrade it to x and then add new scenes. Is the 7by davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X Plural Eyes WorkFlow-After synch - 11 years agoOK. I am new to FCPX and am working on a project with interviews and B-Roll. I have synched my footage up with Plural Eyes, and each interview ends up as a "Project" (sequence). Now I am trying to figure out the best workflow to cut the interviews, as I will need to cut them up, add b-roll, etc. and not sure what to do from here-Do I create the project of each interview into an Event, aby davidblumenfeld - Café LA - X Best Motion Tutorial - 12 years agoMy wife is a graphic designer and she wants to start doing some motion graphics (text,, etc) for my corporate videos. I get a file error: Unknown File message. What is strange is that all of the other files from this same session went in OK--Just this one, which is about 770 MB won't. It is the largest one in the session. They were all recorded with a Zoom 4hn 48.0 KHz; 16 bit... It plays fine in VLC, also. We will hear voice-over while we watch the mouse move around the screen, click through their website, zoom in on things, etc. What is the best software for doing this type of hi-quality screen capturing? THanks!by davidblumenfeld - Café LA Re: matching 60i to canon 5DmarkII - 13 years agoOk, From what I understand, the 5D actually doesn't generate time-code in the original h264 files off of the camera. At 30P Setting, the camera will shoot 29.97. If we use the EOS E1 Plugin with Final Cut Pro, it will add timecode to the ProRes clips, drop-frame Timecode. So, I think that we are OK...Anyone else have other info? Does this sound right?by davidblumenfeld - Café LA matching 60i to canon 5DmarkII - 13 years agoI have a client that I'm shooting for. He said he's been shooting some previous footage at 60i. I wanted to shoot with Canon 5DMarkII. He said they need me to shoot at 29.97 DROP FRAME. Is this possible with my camera?
