Prores422 as an archive QT - 13 years agoHi Champs, My current project is the most complicated i've done to date, many layers of video, all graded with additional effects etc. Upon rendering it in 10 minute chunks i've noticed my hard drive capacity is dropping rapidly due to the accumulated render files. Also when opening back up the project file, i have found that two or 3 clips in the timeline lose their render files, hence, aby bluey - Café LA Re: New FCP feature request, belated... - 13 years agoto be able to render a sequence as a background processby bluey - Café LA Re: Transferring and reconnecting render files between drives - 13 years ago. . thanks champsby bluey - Café LA Re: FCP 6 upgraded to 7 Question - 13 years agocheers dave - again - i almost feel like privately funding an ad campaign to warn editors to NOT use lacie portable drives, absurd - why bother making a product that skits out and/or fails after only a month's use? further more it's not like theres EVER a good time for problems though, bah never mind - i'll be buying a couple of the other drives immediately. Thanks again, Blueyby bluey - Café LA Transferring and reconnecting render files between drives - 13 years agoHi - when i transfer my project from my portable drive to my home studio, i plan to copy over render files previously generated. I'll be opening up a duplicate of the project file and then re-connecting the clips to the copy of the media stored on my home drive. Will i be able to reconnect to the render files also copied over from the rendering done on the laptop, to save re-rendering? Cheers, Blueyby bluey - Café LA Re: VHS for editing in FCP then compression for DVD - 13 years ago"besides wanting the super lofi look." - i'm lifting footage from an old vhs tape, of course it'd look 'lo-fi'. there really isn't any cohesive structure to the points being raised here, just random statements without context questioning other peoples statements. think it was my fault. cheers anyway Bluey,by bluey - Café LA Re: VHS for editing in FCP then compression for DVD - 13 years agothe material was shot on dv and then recorded to videotape (?) what else would it mean? Bluey,by bluey - Café LA Re: hot lacie drive - how warm should they get?! - 13 years agointeresting regards the train motion.... it's in my backpack all day, but really the train isn't a rough ride, i shouldn't think the motion would effect the drive it's on my thigh. even at home on the weekends i've been cutting off the rugged here on the sofa, it's been great. once all the cutting is done i was planning to go to the iomega 1tb for the final edit, colour, render, export . .by bluey - Café LA Re: hot lacie drive - how warm should they get?! - 13 years agommm well i need something this small as i'm cutting my film to and from work, on the train per daily basis, a brick-g-raid with fan would be impractical lugging that with the macbook round the underground. no trouble with it dismounting so far. i've bought a stackable iOMEGA 1tb to transfer the project file to at the weekend, reconnect to a copy of the rushes on that drive. there are some vby bluey - Café LA hot lacie drive - how warm should they get?! - 13 years agoHi champs, been cutting off an external lacie rugged 500gb, fw800 and the underside is pretty warm/hot . . almost wtf hot. is this normal? is it going to explode or something or start melting? how hot should externals like this get. you could almost half-cook an egg on the underside i'm sure. i have been using my laptop on battery and charge for 6-8 hour periods but surely this is well withby bluey - Café LA Re: getting cassette tape audio into FCP . . . - 13 years ago. . . the jury is out 'n the options are getting played players! will be in touch!
