Final output to DVCam. I've rendered my entire sequence -- blue line. However when I play the sequence some clips do not play as if rendered or I see the blue background with UNRENDERED in the Canvas and on my broadcast monitor. They were going to use an Avid house. They are considering using a FCP house, but the post coordinator told them that with Avid they were going to use Unity so they could have several bays going at a time and that there is NOTHING like that in the FCP world. Okay, this does not even sound right!!!!! What is the eby Lisha - Café LA Re: H264 and Photo JPEG formats - 14 years agoThanks Shane! If they convert the Photo JPEG files to DV can they use the files as their master files and output to tape once the editorial is complete? Please see my 04:57PM post for additional questions. Thanks so much!!!! Peace, Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: H264 and Photo JPEG formats - 14 years agoI decided to get more information... This is a show from the 70's and 80's. Hours, upon hours, upon hours of footage, on 1 inch, betaSP and Digi. The final goal is a DVD box set and for broadcast. For archival purposes the post house put the footage into 100 percent Photo JPEG and H.264. The producers have been scanning the files to see what footage they want to use on the DVDs and Broadcaby Lisha - Café LA Re: H264 and Photo JPEG formats - 14 years agoThanks Jeff! So they should use the Photo JPEG to offline and then use the full quality clips for the online? Correct?by Lisha - Café LA H264 and Photo JPEG formats - 14 years agoA friend has a bunch of footage that was sent to them via a server in both formats. The Photo JPEG clips, I'm told are the high quality clips for editing. To save on disc space they want to edit with the H.264 and then online to the Photo JPEG clips. Is that doable? I told them to separate the two formats onto different drives and connect the drive they want to work from. I also told them to waitby Lisha - Café LA Re: Lower 3rd or "Proberty of..." burned into picture - 14 years agoHi Shane, Should I trash the file I spent 3 hours compressing and start with a new file? Export from FCP using compressor, in compressor add the "text overlay" :-) and compress a new file? Thanks so much! Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Lower 3rd or "Proberty of..." burned into picture - 14 years agoHello to all, I compressed a 44:30 viewing copy of a show and forgot to add "Property of (company name)" over the picture. I need to burn to DVD so I can send viewing copies to clients. Is there a way for me to add the "Property of (company name)" to the compressed file and make the DVD or do I have to go back to FCP, add the "Property of..." track and recompress?by Lisha - Café LA Re: Is "Speakers On" Gone in FCP6?? - 15 years agoI wanna be just like Derek when I grow up! LOL!by Lisha - Café LA Re: pink and green waffle type pattern on tape when I print to video - 15 years agoYep, the entire program is on the tape. I played from the timeline and hit play/record. Using the Print To Video option gives me the pink and green lines/waffle pattern on the tape.by Lisha - Café LA Re: pink and green waffle type pattern on tape when I print to video - 15 years agoHi Derek, Edit to Tape does not work either. Playing the timeline and then just hitting play/record works. I cleaned the heads and I still have my fragile door intact. :-) Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: pink and green waffle type pattern on tape when I print to video - 15 years agoAdditional note: If I record straight from the timeline the footage records to the tape. However, using Print To Video records the pink and green lines to the tape. Thanks again! Lishaby Lisha - Café LA pink and green waffle type pattern on tape when I print to video - 15 years agoHello to all, I am recording to DVCAM tape using a Sony DSR-11 on my MacBook Pro. My timeline is not recording to the tape. A pattern of pink and green lines are recording to the tape. I can view the footage on my broadcast monitor, but when I hit play/record on my DSR-11 I loose the picture on my monitor. If I just play from the timeline I see the picture on my monitor. Help! It is letterboxed so if I crop and blow up the footage it will be too blurry. We have permission to use it, but the record label does not have access to the footage without the bug. I doubled the layer, cropped the 2nd layer and applied a gaussianblur to blur out the logo. This is new territory for me. I've been editing a syndicated gospel music show for almost 5 years. I inherited the opening titles and have hated them since day 1, but haven't had the time to create new ones. Any suggestions as to where I can get some ideas? I've tried the de-interlacing filter and the Flicker Filter, but I'm still getting jittering. Any suggestions. As always, thanks in advance! Good minds think alike. Looking for other options to present them with. Like a small stage on a back street of Hollywood that you wouldn't know about unless you've shot there or heard about if via word of mouth. What are my options, here? Totally open to suggestions. It's A and B list talent from the music industry so I wasn't kidding about not shooting in my living room. Although I have. I suggested shooting in the production office, (nice BIG loft space in Downtown LA) however the powers that be want a "stage". I need to shoot talent for a talking heads documentary. It's noted talent so I can't set up in my living room. ;-) Shooting one person at a time. We will shoot against a black background and may also add some sort of backdrop. I recently attended a Larry Jordan seminar and he showed us how to create a TC window burn using Compressor. Only thing, I can't read my own notes. LOL! Memory serves me correctly, it was as easy as clicking through a few menu options. There was a window in Compressor and it gave the option to check the box lby Lisha - DVD Studio Pro MANY thanks for the suggestions re; talking heads documentary - 15 years agoHello to all, Thank you so much for your suggestions re; talking heads documentary (http://www.lafcpug.org/phorum/read.php?1,205979,205979#msg-205979) a few months ago.
