Re: deliver TV shows in High Definition - 15 years agoHi Wayne, When a station accepts a .mov file how do you deliver? Do you put the file on a DVD? Peace, Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: deliver TV shows in High Definition - 15 years agoI'm in Los Angeles. :-) Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: deliver TV shows in High Definition - 15 years agoAlso, would I need a certain type of drive? I gave up on my CAEN RAID several months ago (http://www.lafcpug.org/phorum/read.php?1,200438,200438#msg-200438) and have been using a firewire drive. Is my dual 2.3 Ghz G5 okay with HD? OH, what deck would I use to output to? Right now I deliver to the post-house on DVCAM using a dsr-11 and the post-house makes a digi-beta for closed captioning. Deby Lisha - Café LA Re: deliver TV shows in High Definition - 15 years agoHi Shane, Thanks so much! So I should poll the stations re; HD format? We deliver up to 120 stations per airing. If different stations are asking for different formats, what would my workflow be? If I have the SD to HD card can I also convert previously aired SD shows to HD? Thanks again! Lishaby Lisha - Café LA deliver TV shows in High Definition - 15 years agoHello to all, Two of the shows I edit are clip shows, where we are supplied footage from sources and then incorporate the footage into our shows. I've been delivering Standard Definition however stations have started asking about High Definition. The footage supplied to the shows is seldom HD. Is it possible for me to deliver the shows to some of the stations in High Definition even thoughby Lisha - Café LA Re: DVD burn for 1PM screening - 15 years agoScreening went great!!!! Thanks guys! Peace, Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: DVD burn for 1PM screening - 15 years agoJust got off the phone with the tech guy for the screening. Gonna play the documentary from my MacBook Pro. Yeah!!!!!!! Thanks again guys. I've been at it for 28 hours straight AND working through a bout of food poisoning! Can't wait to go to sleep tonight!!!!!! I have to find a way to work smarter instead of harder! :-) Peace, Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: DVD burn for 1PM screening - 15 years agoThanks guys!!!!! I want to see about playing the documentary from my laptop -- like we do at the FCP meetings. How would I hook up my Macbook Pro to whatever they are using to project the image. Would I play the documentary from the timeline or play a Quicktime Movie?by Lisha - Café LA DVD burn for 1PM screening - 15 years agoHello to all, I have a screening at 1:00 PM today and I'm still editing at 4:08 AM. The program is 90 minutes. Is the fastest way to make the DVD to output from FCP using Compressor and then use DVD Studio Pro? It has to be a good quality DVD. From my experience I think I'm looking at needing about ours to make the DVD. Is that correct or is there another option? Thanks so much! Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: Ideas for sinister transitions? - 15 years agoIt's not exactly sinister, but it's a start. :-) Promo for The Guardian Line comic book series Peace, Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: markers in multiclip - 15 years agoLet's add it to the list for the next version! THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!by Lisha - Café LA Station says aspect ratio is off -- what to do???? - 15 years agoHello to all, I received the following message regarding a show I edited: "We caught the re-feed of the show today ? however, it?s not airable as fed. It appears that the program was acquired in HD and then pulled into an edit system in SD so the picture is squeezed horizontally? everyone looks tall and skinny. Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: Upgrading to Leopard... - 15 years agoIs it still as bad of an idea if now I'm only dealing with FCP 6? I was able to upgrade the FCP5 project this morning and so far so good. I'm playing through the project now to check for missing clips and sync issues. So, still 3 projects, but all in FCS2 now. I would really like to use this plugin Thanks so much! Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Re: Upgrading to Leopard... - 15 years agoCourtesy of a suggestion from the group... ;-) "(FxFactory2 & Leopard need to be installed)" I did just walk on the wild side and upgrade the project in FCP 5 to 6. It seems to be playing fine. I'm going to play through the project to make sure all clips are intact. This means I can get rid of FCP5 and just work with 6. Lishaby Lisha - Café LA Upgrading to Leopard... - 15 years agoHello to all, First off, I'm in the middle of a project -- 3 for that matter. :-) I recently upgraded to FCS2. I started a project and then realized a plugin I want to use needs Leopard to run. One of the 3 projects is waiting for final approval before I do the audio mix and is a FCP5 project. I have FCP 5 installed under another user. I've been working between FCP 5 and 6. Any suggestionsby Lisha - Café LA Re: markers in multiclip - 15 years agoI think I found the answer, but if anyone has a work around or if something has changed since this article was written, please chime in. I really need to be able to see the title of each Marker so I can go to the topic quickly in my timeline. Thanks again! Lishaby Lisha - Café LA markers in multiclip - 15 years agoHello to all, Working with FCP 6.0.3 How do you work with Markers in a multiclip? When I put a marker on my multiclip in the timeline, the clip in the browser does not notate the marker i.e.; all of the markers in the timeline are not listed in the browser. I have a 4-camera shoot, documentary. I need to mark the different topics being discussed. How do I make a list of what the the subjecby Lisha - Café LA Re: Is there a way to make note of duplicate clips in the timeline? - 15 years agoThanks Derek! ;-) Hey did you get my email about the show "African American Short Films"? I visited your website and at least one of the films you've edited may fit into the show. I sent you an email via your website. Email me offlist for questions or to receive the call-for-entries again. Thanks again! I have several clips and I want to make sure I have not repeated clips in my timeline. I remember in my Avid days if I had a duplicate clip in the timeline I'd get a colored line running through the clip letting me know the clip was elsewhere in the timeline. Does Final Cut Pro do this? As always, thanks in advance! Lisha Badami Productions www.badamitv.coby Lisha - Café LA Re: Talking Heads doc -- suggestions - 15 years agoThanks again Ben! The producer loves the effect, now that he can see a visual, and I've been given the green light! I'm going to use it along with some other ideas. After importing into FCP there was no audio, so I used Media Streamclip to convert the footage to: 29.97, 720x480 H.264 Data Rate 1.3 MB NTSC - CCIR 601 Field Dominance - Lower Stereo / 48Khz When I try to put the converted clip into my timeline I get a message saying that the footage does not match any of my sequenceby Lisha - Café LA Talking Heads doc -- suggestions - 15 years agoHello to all, I'm working on a talking heads documentary and looking for ways to make it visually interesting. I have lots of talking heads footage and lots of black and white photos -- over 800 to choose from! I have a few ideas up my sleeve, but I'd like to hear from the group as well. Any suggestions of documentaries that really stand out?
