Re: Green Screen Hunting - 17 years agoAlong with all the great info given, DV Matte Blast. It solved all my problems for around $100. Simple, easy, and it works! Kevinby kevin - Café LA best Motion dvd tutorial - 17 years agoIts probably been answered before, whats the best tutorial video you've seen on Motion? Thanx, Kevinby kevin - Motion ¡ - 17 years agoDoes anyone know how to get the upside down exclamation point used in Spanish? (¡) I'm using 4.5 HD for subtitles.by kevin - Café LA Re: 4 minute green screen vid. I'm getting my feet wet. - 17 years agodv matte blast from dv garage. Fantastic value for the money and pulls a great green screen key. good luck, Kevin p.s. I'd do one at a time.by kevin - Café LA Re: Green screen havoc - 17 years agoIf you aren't using dv matte blast in "Motion" to do your green screen work it makes life very rough. Google "Dv Garage" and get dv matte blast. Cost is around $100 U.S. Makes life much easier doing green screen work. Good luck! Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: OT: what happened to the share your stuff page? - 17 years agoThanx Micheal, For some reason it wasn't showing up in my safari browser. I'll be contributing again in about 6 weeks, I have a new project giving Tesla energy demonstrations. Really cool stuff! Kevinby kevin - Café LA OT: what happened to the share your stuff page? - 17 years agoWhat happened to the share your stuff page? I loved seeing other peoples work and learned from it. Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: Sony's New HDVCam with 20x Lens - 17 years agoI have done many projects with the Z1 and after doing the video in HDV have down converted the footage to dvcam and it looks great! Opinions are everywhere, for docs I shoot it works great. Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: IDVD6 - 17 years agoiDVD does not like or use songs in mpeg format. Open the song in soundtrack pro, change it to an aiff file and drop it in iDVD. See if that cures it. Good luck, Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: Interview done 30 years later - 17 years agoThanx Jude! Premier will be in San Diego in October. I don't where else yet. Yea, the covering over I was aware of and I used the style you wrote about in different areas. The dvd set will be sold with the originals and to an extent its a very limited audience, most are very familiar with the original, that is one reason I felt it was "ok" to cover some of the old footage. I also intby kevin - Show and Tell Re: HDV File Transfers - 17 years agoYep, should be fine. I edit hdv on a dual 2.7 with a second internal sata drive and it works fine. Good luck! Kevinby kevin - Café LA Interview done 30 years later - 17 years agoHere's a portion of a series of interviews I did about 2 films that were made between 1976 and 1980. The actors were all amatuers, as were the sound guys, cameraman, etc. Scenes were set but totally improvised. The idea was to allow the "actors" to explore and express different parts of themselves and their character. It was funded by Unarius Educactional Foundation and just recently soby kevin - Show and Tell Re: HDV, HD, DVCPRO HD, PROGRESSIVE, field-blending - Misconceptions, self-imposed limitations - just what can we do with FCP5 as far as output is concerned? - 17 years agoOne issue I have with anyone wanting great web video, if you want it to look great hire a professional! HDV can look great on the web if done properly. Just because we have "Compressor" doesn't make us a web master. I can and have put video up for any one to see, I know if I want it to look like the "Dreamworks" stuff on the web I would have to hire someone who knows what theyby kevin - Café LA Re: Software scopes for HD - 17 years agoWell... I'm with the scopes are scopes camp. They are telling you where the whites and blacks are and everything in between. I've edited in HDV using the scopes and then dropped that finished program into a dv timeline and the scopes were the same, my whites were at 100 and my blacks at 0. I used that to master to DV cam and it looked great. Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: HDV TO DV TO DVD WORKFLOW - 17 years agoJosh B Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > sorry i'm a little confused, if your wanting DV > res why are you importing it as HDV? why not just > capture it at DV res? That way you will have a higher rez master if and when you buy that new blu ray dvd burner! A good way of future proofing. Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: HDV TO DV TO DVD WORKFLOW - 17 years agoCapture and edit HDV. Export as HDV self contained movie, drop into iDVD 6. Output will be letterboxed dvd for playing onto 4:3 screens. good luck, kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: using sony hdv as a deck - 17 years agoIf these were shot as mini dv your presets have to match that in FCP to be able to capture footage. You can't capture regular dv footage with the presets set to HDV. HDV and DV are totally different formats. Your camera will play the footage as regular dv automatically, connect via firewire and capture. DO NOT plug in the firewire cable while your camera is on, it can fry the sony connection andby kevin - Café LA Re: Capturing HDV without rendering? HELP!!!!! - 17 years agoI capture HDV from a sony z1 all the time. I have control while capturing and don't have to render in the timeline, something is wrong in your set ups. Try trashing your prefs and setting up again. You are using firewire from your camera to capture from correct? HD card has nothing to do with it, I edited a whole show without a hd card. It sounds as if your camera may have been set up strangely dby kevin - Café LA Re: HDV - PAL or NTSC? - 17 years agoDon't know about the FX1, but the Z1 can be set to pal or ntsc, quite useful when your continent hopping. I believe the difference is 25 vs. 30 or 60 frames per second. Bought mine from B & H in New York, I'm in California, no tax. Good luck! Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: Simplevideout to DVD recorder via firewire - 17 years agoJust use the firewire port from your computer to the firewire port on your dvd recorder. Hit record on the dvd recorder then play the timeline of your finished show. Be sure to do a complete mix down of your show before playing the timeline out, should work fine. Its a manual method and not the most elegant, but it should work. Good luck, Kevinby kevin - Café LA keying HDV footage, wierd delay - 17 years agoI'm looking at using DV matte blast in motion 2, I've downloaded the demo and its fantastic. My problem is a small one. There is a delay between the sound and the video portion of my footage. I'm using a dual 2.7 G5 with 2 gigs of ram. kevinby kevin - Motion HDV to 16 x 9 SD DVD workflow - 17 years agoHi All! Just finished an HDV show in FCP and used compressor to downconvert to DV anamorphic. It used both HDV and some standard 3/4" footage that I upconverted in compressor to use in the show. When I made my dvd in DVD SP 4 the HDV footage had some strange, very slight jittery motion in any movement shots. Any ideas on the best way to get around this? BTW, the 3/4" tape footage downby kevin - DVD Studio Pro Re: Filter to clip blacks? - 17 years agoUse the 3 way color corrector and adjust. Using them properly may help you avoid having to use the broadcast safe filter. Good luck Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: HDV -> SD DVD - 17 years agoIf you have iDVD 6 you can export your movie HDV then burn it in iDVD 6 and end up with a 16:9 image that will play on a 4:3 tv. Meaning it will be a standard dvd and the final product will be letterboxed on a standard screen, black bar across top and bottom. good luck! Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: iDVD and FCP - 17 years agoHave you checked your DVD burner? Could be a bad dvd burner, try to copy and burn a 1 gig file onto a dvd, not through iDVD, but just burn it and see what happens. I use iDVD 6 and FCP 5 (not 5.1) all the time with no problem so something else is wrong. Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: OT: PCI tp PCIe? - 17 years agoYes, it says on the box, not that it says immediatly on their site, PCIe. Rather frustrating. So... I'll have to figure out where to go from here. Kevinby kevin - Café LA OT: PCI tp PCIe? - 17 years agoI have a dual 2.7 g5 and I'd like to use the decklink hd extreme card in it. When I go to the system profiler it just indicates that I have PCI slots not PCIe. Any chance I can use this card in my mac? Any adapters out there?by kevin - Café LA Re: DVD burn - 17 years agoNeed moreinfo. How was the original filmed? etc. Kevinby kevin - Café LA Re: HDV Print to tape - 17 years agoWell, you've asked for a couple different things. If you've edited your show 16:9 HDV and you want a dvd that will play on a standard ntsc tv, out put a quicktime self contained movie from FCP, open up iDVD 6 and use the file you created as the movie. iDVD 6 will do the downconvert and all, and you will end up with a letterbox image, black bar across the top and bottom, that will play on a standaby kevin - Café LA |
