Re: Need help exporting DV to DVD beautifully- without Compressor (broken beyond repair) - 12 years agoIf you really need Compressor to work. Go to the Apple app store and buy and download the newer version of Compressor. It's only 50 bucks. As least you'll be able to compress your video.by Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: Adobe Production Premium CS6 revealed @ NAB... - 12 years agoI wish they'd would of shown a little video demo of Encore. If it's anything like the other apps, It should be great. Any news what the upgrade price is going to be from CS5.5?by Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: OT: Installing trial version of InDesign - 12 years agoSo a dialog box isn't popping up letting you select what programs you want to install? It must be something to do that it's a download trial version. They want you to try the complete suite hoping you'll buy it.by Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: FCP X 10.0.4 is in the AppStore updates - 12 years agoIt all downloading for me. It's just slow.by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: anyone here use fcp w/ a hacintosh? - 12 years agoI have a friend that built a hacintosh. It worked pretty good for him. I know a few people that are thinking of building them. I'd like to do the same if no Mac Pros are released.by Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: Not happy with FCP X - 12 years agoI'm a little lost. I'm trying to understand this. Are you saying you are ripping the DVD that you just created? Are you using DVD's for storage? Then when you need something from the past, you rip the DVD's?by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Not happy with FCP X - 12 years agoWhat did you do before you bought FCPX?by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Transform effects made easy - 12 years agoBoth of those tools have a lot of controls, wow! I can see creating text in PS or illustrator, and using bounceIt for an effect. With a little planing I can see how creating a simple Ken Burn effect would be pretty easy. Not bad for $24.99 each. Thanks for making us aware of them, Tom.by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Best Motion Tutorial - 12 years agoI subscribe to lynda.com ... but you can find tutorials on youtube. ...and anything from Mark Spencer. http://www.rippletraining.com/ http://www.applemotion.net/by Russ Blaise - Motion Re: Another Other NLE - 12 years agoThere will be no need to go to iMovie for many PS users, for their video needs.by Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: OT: Cooler Internal Drives With 3 Inside - 12 years agoI use istat pro also. I also adjust the fan speeds with smcFanControl. I have more problems with dog hair inside my computer. I have to clean it out as least once a month. You can pick ProRes LT on export. But why is it that FCPX lets you can pick a codec like ProRes LT and others when you create a new project? Is your project really a ProRes LT if you pick that? I don't see the point if all your footage is transcoded to ProRes (standard) if you import, checking "Create Optimized Media". I guess it's just one of those things!by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: FCPX: Which flavour of ProRes - 12 years agoWhen you create a "New Project". And you can tell what flavour of ProRes you want when you Export. When you "Import" media. FCPX does not offer ProRes 422 (LT). Which one to choose is up to what camera you shot the footage with, and what codec. Need more info!by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Am looking for a thread or an article telling me what I would miss from FCP if I go to Premiere - 12 years agoMark, In Premiere on a Mac you can do an "Unlock Panel" to the timeline viewer window. Move it any where, or to any monitor. You can do this to any viewer window. Also works that way in After Effects and Encore. So you are saying this can't be done on a PC?by Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Eliminate Grain from footage. - 12 years agoOkay, Magic Bullet Denoiser II is out: http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/blog/2012/02/28/magic-bullet-denoiser-ii-is-here/ It's only for Adobe After Effects for now. It has a very very improved noise reduction feature.by Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: First time Blu-Ray Burn using Compressor!! Epic FAIL!!! - 12 years agoCompressor is not great to burn a Blu-ray disk. It will let you create the files. You should look into Toast, or Adobe's Encore to do the burning. Burning a Blu-ray disk going through the SHARE menu: Many reported that it works, and sometimes it does not. For me, It never worked except for one time. If you do try the SHARE again. "Mountain Lion" boots into 64-bit kernel only. So any 32-bit programs won't run on "Mountain Lion". So FCP7 being 32-bit, it won't work. That's just a wild guess on my part. Again, I could be wrong. Here's a link about "Mountain Lion": http://osxdaily.com/2012/02/16/os-xby Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: OT: "Mountain Lion" is coming... - 12 years agoMountain Lion is not good news for me. Who'd a thunk! I use the Matrox Mini. I hooked up a Sony 40" HDTV. Great picture! What I found really really interesting is that footage looks the same on my computer monitor (The viewer in FCPX) as it does on the HDTV. I never did any color calibration yet.
