We just shot some short docs at 720/24p on P2 cards and had a good experience, but we cut in DVCProHD... We shot 1080 24psf on some high end Sony varicam style Studio cameras (connected to recorders via fiber cable). It was a 4 day conference (TED) that had all day speakers - 5 cameras... He wrote the following: "It should be fine as long as you selected all the audio regions and you did not refer to them instead." But where are such choices? When I hit export/OMF, the choice window was limited to "rate, depth, handles, and include crossfades." Should I be worried? I guess "option" isn't the most articulate description. More specifically, FCP has two different logging/format fields for codec & frame rate. Like we can have DV PAL footage, DV NTSC footage, DV 23.98 footage, DV 23.98 advanced footage, but it's all uby Marla Mitchnick - Café LA P2 Importing - 16 years agoHi there Gang- Below is the situation as described by my colleague, Michael Glass, who is importing these P2 files for me to cut with: ""We're importing P2 footage using the IMPORT>Panasonic P2 tool in FCP 5.1.2. This footage was shot at 24P and it's importing as 24P, so all appears fine. Nonetheless, there is a discrepancy. It makes marks that seem unrelated to my in and/or my out. When in the autoselected state does the little tv go clear? Or is the default (black-filled) in the selected position and you have to DE select the other tracks? When I park mid-clip and hit X, it is not selecting the appropriate clip. Wether selected or not... Even if I move the video track selector on the left there up to my chosen track. Do you have to be on V1 for this to work?? What's the secret? I remember a time, not so very long ago, when it was 20MB, on a G4 power book... But that may have been version 3, or 4.5 (definitely NOT 5.1)... Also key command for... - 16 years agoMy colleague figured out a solution, involving "make multiclip," but then the video layers were all collapsed into one layer and you had to do all your thinking in the viewer monitor. I am such a timeline-head that I couldn't deal with that. It's fine, I'll wait for the real thing. You are right "If you are talking layers you're not doing multicam," at the moment it ain't true multicam, next month we go HD, with proper synching of TC between 8 cameras...
