Re: blue line (flare) filter - 10 years agoAwesome! Thanks Joe! is is AE only?by TroyChristian - Café LA blue line (flare) filter - 10 years agoAnyone know what or who makes that horizontal blue/white line lighting effect use in music videos a lot as a plugin? Motion has one but it isn't quite it. Have a client asking for that specifically .. Thanks! FCP7by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Ease In or Smooth - 10 years agoI use Motion for all of my text, lower thirds, titles and motion graphics. It is also great to take the templates and start messing with them. You can really make them unique with a little futzing. Not an expert at it but have been using it a lot for the last couple years. But when I get into the keyframe layers my eyes start to roll back in my head hahaby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Ease In or Smooth - 10 years agoThanks Harry- a million. I do use Motion and round trip it ... but the multiple layers of keyframes sometimes get me whereby in FCP I have a full understanding ... Funnily enough I was messing around with Pan and Zoom today. Normally I can figure a filter out without going to the "help" or instructions on it but that one, after a first attempt, has a little different flavor to the conby TroyChristian - Café LA Ease In or Smooth - 10 years agoKind of a rudimentary question here so thanks for the patients on this topic- Why is it that when I am moving a still image (scale and center) and add Ease In/out in the canvas or Smooth in the motion tab that sometimes it slows so nicely to a stop while other times it does a little curve at the end? And sometimes it still kinda "bangs" to a stop?? And no matter how much I zoom in aby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Moire filter or technique for post? - 10 years agono such luck Joe - but thx!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Moire filter or technique for post? - 10 years agoThanks Joe - I'll try it. I shot in 1080 AND even did tests beforehand - had the actor put the shirt on and move around, ingested and watched playback on 2 separate monitors. It just happened that in few very specific lighting situations it appears. Fortunately, because of the nature of the short film and the performances, not a single person - even filmmakers - have noticed. Unfortunatelyby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Moire filter or technique for post? - 10 years agoThanks - I already did the double on V2 but didn't try the contrast ... thanks!!by TroyChristian - Café LA Moire filter or technique for post? - 10 years agoTrying to remove some Moire from some 7D footage. Some of it is major pink and green Moire while other is more subtle. Trying few things but no luck yet - (blur e.g.) Any suggestions? (Joe - this was clearly not shot with the filter you recommended ages ago) FCP7.0.3 OSX10.6.8by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: wav files skipping - 10 years agoThat has been my experience - mp3's - no good - and that is the exact effect I am getting. But everything is def in 48. There is some 16 bit mixed in with the 24 bit which I m replacing as I go.by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: wav files skipping - 10 years agoI have converted - all files to Apple ProRes and resized stills to RGB PNG's and so on. Will 16 bit audio actually make it skip like that? Never been an issue before...by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: wav files skipping - 10 years agook - I'll take a shot of it - this is a crazy project where the media is from so many different sources - archival footage mixed with stuff shot recently - been a giant project trying to convert everything from stills and mpeg2 and H.264, DV etc etc in an effort to get this thing to play nice ...by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: wav files skipping - 10 years agoStill skips after changing from 16 to 24 bits. It already was 48. hmmmm - and it is random as to when it happensby TroyChristian - Café LA Magnification Plugin for FCP 7 - 10 years agoCan anyone recommend a plugin for FCP 7 that allows you to magnify a certain line of text on a page? I own the CGM magnifying glass plugin which is the right idea - but it doesn't allow you to change to circle to a rectangle ... Thanks!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: wav files skipping - 10 years agoThx Strypes - I'll give it a whirl!by TroyChristian - Café LA wav files skipping - 10 years agoWondering what would make wav files skip in FCP. Upon playing the back with Preview or QT Player they are perfect yet within my project they skip in the same way MP3's have a tendency too. Any thoughts?? OSX 10.6.8 Quad-Core 8GB of RAM FCP 7.0.3 Thanks!!!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Automatic Duck - 10 years agoK All - found the sequence - thanks any way - this director insists on working backwards on this doc I am working on - audio with sound guy first then sync the 3 camera interview picture to it. You can imagine my frustration ... and the amount of extra work that is being created. Wish me luck!! Troyby TroyChristian - Café LA Automatic Duck - 10 years agoImported an OMF into FCP 7.0.3 using Automatic Duck. I can see all clips etc. but am not sure how to make the audio dudes edit decisions appear in a timeline. I am sure I am missing something simple. Any help avail out there? Client sitting here ugh. Troyby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Out of Memory error - 10 years agoOS 10.6.8 2 x 2.66 Quad Core 12GB RAM Should be able to handle it, no? Final Cut prefers png's as opposed to tiff's?? Thanks gents!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Out of Memory error - 10 years agoQuestion Derek, about pix. There are several images that I am using that are 1944 x 2592 Resolution 72ppi or even a little bigger (I have made sure that they are all 72ppi). Will this size photo give FCP fits? Still having some wonky behavior with my project. The issue is that I am needing to push way in to fill the 1080p frame and don't want to lose resolution in the process. Thoughts? Stby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Out of Memory error - 10 years agoas a matter of fact just found a pic that was too large - thanks Derek!!by TroyChristian - Café LA Out of Memory error - 10 years agoCan anyone point me to a solution to this error. Working on a project and was provided with a gazillion different codecs and still images. I keep getting General Error and Out of Memory error. It seems that my system is not liking the mp4's provided from stock footage houses for one thing. I am using FCP to transcode them and it seems to be a bit happier. The project file is only 25MB do it's nby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Importing OMF Files - 10 years agoAutomatic Duck is available for free download now - which offers it as a plug in fyiby TroyChristian - Café LA Importing OMF Files - 10 years agoHow (or can) I import OMF files into FCP 7.0.3 that were delivered to me by audio engineer? Exporting is clear - have never imported before. Thanks in advance for any feedback. OSX 10.6.8by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Hard drive crash - anyone have luck with Disk Warrior or other program?? - 11 years agoSo, the Frankincense didn't work. Spoke with Brian's partner - $300 per drive and since there are 2 ... well But the (hopefully) good news is that after changing the case - my newer machine (Snow Leopard) on which I purchased Disk Warrior, now could see the drive thru DW. It couldn't fix due to hardware failure but allowed me to view a preview of the drive. It said it was un editable but I figby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Hard drive crash - anyone have luck with Disk Warrior or other program?? - 11 years agoThanks Harry - I changed the case to the drive. It came up briefly - long enough to get most of the critical elements off of it. Got it in the freezer in the new case ... next I'll try Frankincense ...by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Hard drive crash - anyone have luck with Disk Warrior or other program?? - 11 years agoI get all of that. I have done trouble shooting for many who have had the same issues. Fortunately on my stuff I am the producer, director and editor. So I gave the very clif note version as to how I do it. I am though, extremely anal and detail oriented in my own little system and have had zero issues. If it wasn't for me I'd do it differently. I won't bore you with the details of it, but it hasby TroyChristian - Café LA |
