Re: 1080i 60i setup - 16 years agoThat's what I thought er ... well, assumed ... and ... you know I hate it when that ass (ume) thing happens to me in front of clients and such... As far as SD footage in this timeline- (just got the FCP upgrade) will it work? Will they play nice? Final output will be to a HD projector @ a corporate function and will play up against other HD media. They said SD was cool but would hate to watchby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: 1080i 60i setup - 16 years agoThanks Graeme. And is 60i 29.97 frames?by TroyChristian - Café LA 1080i 60i setup - 16 years agoDoing my first project in 1080i x 60i per my clients request. Are there any tutorial docs available that will assist in a proper setup? I tried easy setup and it is a little confusing. I just don't have my head totally wrapped around HD yet. I want to use DCVPro 1080i x 60i not the HDV version. Is this DVCPro HD or DVCPro50? I would like to mix in some standard def footage using FCP 6- is tby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: General Error on Export - 16 years agoYes- Been using it as my scratch disk. Tried 2 before this one. Bothe G-RAIDS... both in use currently and successfully...by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: General Error on Export - 16 years agoTried to a third drive (internal) with 150GB free and had success exporting ... go figure?? Got it done but have no answer other than finicky hard drive...by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: General Error on Export - 16 years agoHmmmm, that is an interesting thought. I think I will try to export it to another location entirely. I have tried 2 different drives but they are both in the workbench no doubt fragmented mode. Maybe I need that clean 75 GB slot ... I'll try another drive and holler back... Thanks for the input as always!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: General Error on Export - 16 years ago500 GB G-RAID 465.64 total 152.68 available The project is a bit bigger now (5 minutes), last time I exported the Hour 15 minute piece it was 65 GB. I would think althoug getting pretty full on the drive, I should be able to export it, no?by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: General Error on Export - 16 years agoSo... I trashed the prefs, tried again ... general error halfway thru the export ... Any thoughts? Thanks!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: General Error on Export - 16 years agoNope ... hip to the punctuation thing. Tried nesting and calling it something else. Just trashed prefs 2 days ago but am going to do that as soon as I finish for the night then retry. It is a lot if info ... 80 GB export or so ... but still ???by TroyChristian - Café LA General Error on Export - 16 years agoTrying to export a full res version of my project - 120 mintues, DVCPro 960 x 720 using Export Movie, - current settings, no compression. Plenty of room on the hard drive. Succeeded doing so last week. Keeps giving me a "general error" message and fails to export. Tried nesting the sequence in another timeline- no luck ... rebooted, nothing else running... still no luck. Any suggestioby TroyChristian - Café LA Color Shift - 16 years agoWorking on a FCP project ... y round trip "rotoscoping" or masking projects from Motion are causing a color shift to a red ... is there a reason for this? No colors have been changed intentionally. Just a Motion mask and effect and walla - red tint ... Any thoughts? Thanks!by TroyChristian - Motion Re: Media Offline... but not - 16 years agoTrashing prefs worked - Thanks guys .. again the answer directly under the nose.... but of course my nose was hidden by my glasses! Yeah, that's it!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Media Offline... but not - 16 years agoTrashing prefs worked - Thanks guys .. again the answer directly under the nose.... but of course my nose was hidden by my glasses! Yeah, that's it!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Media Offline... but not - 16 years agoThanks as always Shane. Didn't work though. Any other ideas??by TroyChristian - Café LA Media Offline... but not - 16 years agoThis is odd... In my FCP project sequence, many of the files thumbnails in the timeline are showing the red Media Offline message. They however, aren't. In fact the sequence plays fine. Double click, there it is in the viewer. Reveal in Finder and wa la!. So that is great. I tried on one to reconnect media. No luck. This is all well and good as FCP is recognizing the clips. That being said, Iby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Export problems - 16 years agoLeft a message for the graphics guy... I will let you know as soon as I find out! I may have found success in exporting with the compressor settings set to "none" though... doing a test. Thanks Joey!by TroyChristian - Café LA Export problems - 16 years agoI am trying to export a FCP .mov file from my timeline. In the timeline which is NTSC 720 x 480 there is DVCPro video that was rendered and looks great. There is also AE graphics (Animation codec) that in the viewer look great and if I change the field dominance to none look great but when the field dominance is lower or upper the graphics look like hell- major artifacting and edges. So the obvioby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: DVCProHD to Beta SP 4 Broadcast - 16 years agoThanks for getting back to me Loren. What we have done is taken the HD footage and dropped into a 4:3 timeline in SD with nor compressor. This of course means render every cut but it is only a :30 spot so I'll live with it... could put masks on the side of a normal HD 16x9 sequence I know... but cover me- I'm already in! My problem is that for some reason when I nest my 720p 16x9 sequence iby TroyChristian - Café LA DVCProHD to Beta SP 4 Broadcast - 16 years agoHello again my fine friends! Shot using my HVX 200 (720p 29.97). Cutting a 30 second spot. I want to transfer from hard drive out to Beta or Beta SP for NTSC broadcast in 4:3 while maintaining the highest quality images and graphics. The first issue for me. My image is 16x9 and I am delivering 4:3. The manual says to cut in 16x9 and then nest into a 4:3 DV sequnce and then output. Is thatby TroyChristian - Café LA Motion Graphix - 16 years agoHi all, I need a kick a_ _ motin graphics designer pronto. Shooting a commercial on Monday and delivering Friday morning. Restaurant spot. AE, Motion, whatever but top notch and fast is mandatory. Please contact me asap and many thanks!by TroyChristian - Jobs Re: Nattress and HD - 16 years agoThanks Graeme! I appreciate you getting right on that for me!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Nattress and HD - 17 years agoThanks!!! The great news Graeme, is that I am playing with looks for a project I am working on. I own the CGM and the Sapphire stuff. Yours looks great side by side and has a couple controls (scratches, weave, etc.) that aren't available in the other 3rd party stuff... Sooo, I'd love your help in getting to the bottom it the issue. I'ts funny- it isn't a constant issue- it just kinda pops uby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Nattress and HD - 17 years agoApple Cinema Display. I have tried the de-interlace option within th filter as well...by TroyChristian - Café LA Nattress and HD - 17 years agoDo the Nattress plugins work with HD? Specifically DVCPro 720p 59.94. When I apply the filter I get interlacing issues. The plugin asks for field dominance so I assume that it is designed for interlaced video which is why I am getting funky results with my HD project. Thanks for the help!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Up res to HD from SD - 17 years agoJust an FYI- Dropped the SD stuff into Compressor to test the transfer to HD. I must say that the results are amazing! Way too time consuming to do all of the footage, but seems extremely worthwhile in transferring the final SD edit to HD. Thanks for the tip!by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Compressor settings for DVCPRO HD 720p60 ? - 17 years agoHi all - Timing is everything... just trying to export the same format for the web. Shane, would you mind sharing your comressor droplet in my direction? I'd love to compare it to what I have been trying. Thanks, Troyby TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Up res to HD from SD - 17 years agoThanks Shane and all... I do appreciate and respect the time it takes to help others get through issues and such...by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Up res to HD from SD - 17 years agoNot sure why I would need the deck if the media is in the computer already (and is on mini dv). I guess I just - no I am certain - that I am not familiar enough with that process to understand what each component (Kona 3 and DVCPro deck) would do. I'll try and read up on it so as to get my head wrapped around it.by TroyChristian - Café LA Re: Up res to HD from SD - 17 years agoYikes ... never liked math... From a quality standpoint, do you think the result is worth the time? Also, I need to cut this stuff together with the 720p @ 59.94 HVX footage. Can I cut THEN convert? That would mean rendering every slice wouldn't it?by TroyChristian - Café LA |
