I'm kind of late but I'm up to date with out any problems. FCPX 10.4.3 MAc os 10.13.5 Shoot I wish Apple would drop the 10 now that were using Mac OS.by Dean - Café LA - X

A) Four, Sandisk 960GB SSD's, striped RAID 0, with a read/write speed of 1500/1350 In almost all cases the 5K iMac trounces the Mac Pro and any other Mac in speed for editing. Sorry I forgot what site I was looking at. Anyway Spinning drives in your configuration may fail and take out the whole Raid That's less likely to happen with the SSD's With the SSD config your getting almost 3X the speeby Dean - Café LA - X

You don't have to worry about the serial number for FCPX I don't even think there is one it's all dependent on your Apple ID. If you delete it and go to the App store (for Mac) you should see install and not $299.00 I just did this yesterday with one of my customers. After that if it still gives you errors try and open from a back up you might lose maybe 15 minutes of work. The Back ups SHOULDby Dean - Café LA - X

I like to use a Project as a final sequence. Within the events I may create if I need them, compound clips and use them as sequences that I can edit at at time and edit into my project. So my Compound Clips are my sequences. I can duplicate projects and edit them as needed. I also use Event Manager X to move projects and events in or out of FCPX when needed.by Dean - Café LA - X

We just got new 27" iMacs in our store with fusion drive and It's FAST as far as launching goes anyway FCPX takes about 4 seconds. I haven't spent much more time with it but it felt amazing Motion 5 launch was instant.by Dean - Café LA - X

I use Macally keyboards and I have spilled many a Rum and Coke on my keyboard and they started acting "Funkey" Pun intended. I washed them in "Distilled Water" made sure they dried completely and then plugged them back in and they still work today.by Dean - Café LA

Wow if you have $2,000.00 to spend on a camera I like the Canon XA10 I have been shooting with it and the pictures are lovely. It's small but not too small I'll be taking it to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks along with my Canon 60D.by Dean - Café LA - X

Shot put pro works really well Although Jon's product seems to work equally as well I have a copy but the new update killed my license and I'm running on a trial version. That transcode shouldn't take too long maybe an hour and a half but you should still be able to work off the card while it encodes I do it all the time.by Dean - Café LA - X

I compress my movie and I do all the LAFCPUG meeting movies in either Compressor or Episode sometimes Adobe Media encoder and then open the YouTube page in Safari an open the upload video page and the drop in my file. I use a 1920 X 1080 .H264 file in most cases. Works great. I was seeing your problem happen a lot to my customers trying to post to You Tube from iMovie not from FCPX but anythingby Dean - Café LA - X

I normally use Shot Put Pro to move my data to a hard drive first but you can in FCPX make a Archive then import from that archive. You can work while the import and encode happens.by Dean - Café LA - X

Apple DID tell the group some of the features that will be in future updates something they rarely do such as dual viewers a I can't remember the rest and I wasn't allowed to tape it so I don't have any video to go back to.by Dean - Café LA - X

I have been using compressor to create blu-ray .264 (Video) with ac3 (Audio) files I have brought them in to Adobe Encore in CS4 and now thanks to Adobe, CS6 it has worked great. Encore has a small learning curve and I find it to be very similar to DVD Studio pro. I haven't done it but I believe that Encore will encode the video as well.by Dean - Café LA

If you click on a clip and open the inspector make sure you have the Video token at the top selected, below that you will see that you have Effects and for every effect you have applied to your clip you can select by clicking on hit and pressing your delete key to remove it or you can click on the blue box to disable it. It's very similar to the way Final Cut Pro 1 to 7 worked. It's just not in aby Dean - Café LA - X

You used to have to hold down Control and press the "B" key now you just press the "V" key much easier. Notice I said press and not HIT?by Dean - Café LA - X
