Re: Premiere Pro CS6 announced - 12 years agoIve alraeady switched to DNxHD for mastering. The less I have to deal with crApple, the better.by lasvideo - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 12 years agoThe link was to the illustration of the horse on the over of Premiere, which was the topic of the messages preceding mine. Sorry I didnt clarify that in the text before the link!by lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 12 years agoThat could be a good thing. Just look how many great developments have happened to the competing NLE that had a galloping horse on the cover box.by lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years agoJ.Corbett Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Posted the question a while back was Premier > taking the market from FCP. > > Now, I can report ..... Stop already!by lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years ago"Alas, poor FCP, I knew it well..." Naw...I better stick with editing, Ben ;-) Hey, I gave it a shot and tried to get a feel for the new style of GUI / workflow that FCP X represents. My flaw was thinking that iMovies experience would give me insight into FCP X. NOT!by lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years ago"If they had given away everything this forum thread would probably have 10 replies instead of over 70 (and counting)." Jon, the flip side of your "statistic" is that 35 of those 70 now are looking for alternative NLEs due to the lack of any available info. ;-)by lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: Spent the Evening with iMovie 11 - 13 years agoAndy, point taken. The Doctor is in and looking forward to some fancy cutting in June. ;-)by lasvideo - Café LA Spent the Evening with iMovie 11 - 13 years agoHoly crap! I spent the evening going thru tutorials and trying to cut a mockup 30 sec. music video. I hope to hell that FCP X has more to offer than iMovie 11. The first nightmare was take a 3 min audio track and make it start and end in 30 sec.As a guitarist, cutting around phrases to make the impossible sound good is standard operating procedure. No problem on a normal timeline. Editing audioby lasvideo - Café LA Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years agoGive em hell Walter. I hope Apple realizes you speak the mind of most of the 1700 attendees at the Super Meet.by lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years agoAnd yet from informed sources we hear that you can configure FCP X to be as familiar as FCP 7 or as bold as FCP X. So possibly no major traumas for anyone,by lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years agoRonny Courtens posted some helpful info that I think professionals want to hear. ? Hi Steve, I have been working on a major project during the past six months and I was not able to participate in any board anymore. From today you can count me in again. As to your concern about FCP X: You are correct that the new GUI may take some time to adapt to. But althhough It looks a bit like iMoby lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: Final Cut Pro X - still Pro - 13 years agoPhil Hawes made a very good observation at the Creative Cow that made a lot of sense to me... "From what I read of the reports of the demo of the new Final Cut X, the new features demonstrated are targeted towards the amateur video maker with a camcorder or DSLR. Features like stabilization, rolling shutter correction, noise cancellation, and audio sync, all supposedly happening on importby lasvideo - Café LA - X Re: New Final Cut Pro at Supermeet, April 12 - 13 years agoFrom the sources Ive seen, no live stream will be allowed but several folks have volunteered to provide live tweets. I believe that Walter Biscardi was one of the folks that will be doing this.by lasvideo - Café LA Re: New Final Cut Pro at Supermeet, April 12 - 13 years agoYou got that right (although I admit no real details were discussed, but it was easy enough to interpret and read between the lines of what the panel members had to say.)by lasvideo - Café LA Re: New Final Cut Pro at Supermeet, April 12 - 13 years agoBased on the discussion I heard at the Editors Lounge...Im not really sure I want a copy ;-)by lasvideo - Café LA Re: New Final Cut Pro at Supermeet, April 12 - 13 years agoWalter posted a link to the Editor Lounge video that is located here As I noted to him, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" takes on a new meaning for me and is a good description of my anticipation of the Tuesday Supermeet. I get the feeling that a "Bad Moon is on the Rise".by lasvideo - Café LA Re: New Final Cut Pro at Supermeet, April 12 - 13 years agoTom, Craig and Joe, I understand your point. Im probably in the minority, but I dont really care about the politics of the situation. Im glad the venue was changed to something that motivated me to buy a ticket and attend. The hidden irony in my situation is I live "around the corner" from the event, but found nothing of interest until Apple was at the event.by lasvideo - Café LA Re: New Final Cut Pro at Supermeet, April 12 - 13 years agoTom Wolsky -"Can't hijack the event? You don't think so? What planet are you on? When the 1000 pound gorilla walks into the room you're convinced. You don't have a choice. Period. You're big footed. Yes, they could do their own event. In the past they have done their own event, more than once. I also say\w that agenda on the site and am very confused as to why no one is talking about ANY of those potentially interesting presentations. Not sure if it is hot swapable.by lasvideo - Café LA Re: Raid Reviews - 15 years agoThanks Michael. I read that and 2 other major reviews (Phil H. and Kevin M.) earlier. Im looking for just a larger cross section of users over time and any issues that might have been experienced.by lasvideo - Café LA Raid Reviews - 15 years agoIm looking for feedback from professionals using Caldigit (HDone) or Maxx Digital ((Evolution) or Sonnet 8TB raids with a Mac Pro . Im curious about performance and reliability over time. All opinions are appreciated.by lasvideo - Café LA Re: Monster problems misusing FCP - people, we must share - 17 years agoTheoretical question....If long clips were digitized (for whatever reason) and STP was need after cutting the sequence together....Could the "Make clip independant" function be applied to the sequence of clips, thereby causing thme NOT to reference the original long clip?by lasvideo - Café LA Re: Problem usinf motion with final cut pro - 17 years agoI had the same exact problem and I think I have the solution. All is well untill I go back to FCP (from Motion) where the picture is "squeezed". I double click on the clip and go the the Motion Menu. Under Distort I notice the clips aspect ratio is at 33%. I set it to 0% and all is well!by lasvideo - Motion |
