Re: OT - Subtitle App Beta Tester Wanted - 11 years agoWhat did you try TitleExchange or XTI? -Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: Magnetism - 11 years agoGood writing Gerard, In the environment I work we use the "Scenario 1" very often for an overview and pre-editing. It makes it easy to bring things into sync, for example if some cams have a few (or a lot of) frames offset. With the help of XML we easily can add a "virtual Aux TC" to make all tracks/clips running the same TOD TC without loosing the original TC and then deciby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: Best way/program to create subtitles for DVD? - 11 years agoJoe, You can use the way Nick described. Downloading TitleExchange gives you a bunch of free apps as well. So once you got all your English subtitles in FCP export the sequence as XML - make sure to keep it, you might need it later) Then use the free gText app to open this XML. It will give you a list of all your subtitles together with an UUID for every subtitle (the UUID is the sameby Andreas Kiel - Café LA XTI Subtitle Importer Release - 11 years agoHi all, Finally got a release for XTI 1.1 with some new features: FCPXML Template Management Tags/Marker for Subs Notes for Subs Basic Subtitle Generator(s) - automatic install Style Transport für "Basic Subtitles" with SRT Tab-Text export to sync with external translators To read more you can download the manual Download Manual Or install the (free) app - the manualby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: How to create master for theatres - 11 years agoTo create a digital cinema file you can use the free openDCP. The lower thirds (as said above) always should match the title save area. If they are not burnt in you can use one of the available tools to convert the titles from FCP XML to STL(DVD), SRT(Web) and DCP-XML(DCP). This won't make the lower thirds the same for every version, but it guarantees they work with every distribution. -Andrby Andreas Kiel - Café LA Re: Shearing Effects for FCPX (Scissors) - 11 years agoUse Motion to create one yourself. -Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: OT - Subtitle App Beta Tester Wanted - 11 years agoHi Andy, No it doesn't CC it just allows to import Spruce STL and SRT as open captions into FCPX. -Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: Sawtoothing on DVD - 11 years agopreditor wrote "My project is shot 1080i, AVCHD in a ProResHQ timeline." I think downscaling an interlaced video will always cause problems with the standard means of FCP. dcouzin had a good method for de-interlacing to 50/60 fps in another thread. It is a kind of your personal "fx factory". That's true. Another thing is that people quite often say "I'm not interested in the technique behind — it just have to work my way" other's say "It's not working the way I want — what I'm doing wrong?" there also others which say say only "It's not working" and so on. The questions are: 1. I know FCPX in theory can import old formats (thanks for that fix, Apple), but what do I need to do in the set up to make that import as trouble free as possible? Or would it be more trouble that it's worth? Though I used Color very seldom and never used Logic it doesn't mean they are not needed. The Multicam argument is fun, real fun - what about more than 2 cams ? (I used multiple cameras (15-25) even way before FCP was released in it's version 1. We used QT Player, an AppleScript and FileMaker. It looked like a standard multicam editor as we have it today.) To work with my little utility you need to have an original card. But you could try Disk Utility to create one from a folder. Andreasby Andreas Kiel - Café LA - X Re: Importing MTS/AVCHD files from Memory Card - 11 years agoYou may try my free copyCard app (http://www.spherico.com/filmtools/copyCards/copyCards.dmg) to copy the cards. Beside making a safe copy it also can create an .iso image which is 1:1 image of your card, this image can be mounted on the desktop and can be used like a normal card. It's easy to use; just batch export an image sequence (TGA, BMP) and the audio tracks and import those into easyDCP Creator.
