Re: iMac 20" vs 24" and FCP Suite 2 - 16 years agoMike, I was thinking doing this as well (about upgrading from my older iMac (the half globe one) that I purchased in '03), and had one question about upgrading FCP. I have FCP 4.5, and if I upgrade to FCS2? How does that work. I mean, I've never upgraded since 4.5 was my first leap into FC. And since 4.5 runs on the older operating system, how does the upgrade to FCS2 work? Is FCS2by Darren - Café LA Re: Stolen Gear from Toronto - 16 years agoI hope they have bad Karma too. Thanks, that was the problem.by Darren - Café LA Re: Can't Capture 8mm Tapes.... - 17 years agoScott, Yeah I'm using a Sony Digital 8 Camcorder BUT I have been capturing to an external. I'll try capturing to my internal and see if that will work.by Darren - Café LA Can't Capture 8mm Tapes.... - 17 years agoI have FCP 4.5 with QT Pro 7. I am trying to transfer home movies for a friend to DVD. They are all analogue 8mm tapes. When I open the Log & Capture window, I can see the preview clearly. Once I start capturing, it captures only 2 seconds worth and freezes. I have it on Non-Controllable Device. Same result in capturing with iMovie. Can see preview fine, but can't capture. I was just wondering if it were HD-DVD or Blu Ray, would the quality be better in ripping it.by Darren - Café LA Re: Curious OT ? About DVD Ripping - 17 years agoNo problem John, I completely understand your stance and utterly respect it. It's just out of curiosity period, and you are correct, I should have stated that it's my material in question. But to answer your question, the project in question is a street bike video/DVD I did locally, a few years back, and I've had to dump the footage from my ext hard drive many moons ago, and I can't find tby Darren - Café LA Re: Curious OT ? About DVD Ripping - 17 years agoJohn, Believe me, although I don't post anywhere near as often as most here, I have read everyday, the posts made here. I DO NOT advocate ANY ripping of copyrighted stuff because it is against law, and I abhor that behavior. I only put out stuff made by me or using royalty free music or footage. It's just that on occasion, doing jobs I want to get the footage I put out on DVD because I haby Darren - Café LA Curious OT ? About DVD Ripping - 17 years agoI know the caveats of ripping a DVD (i.e. already ripping a compressed format etc.) that you may not have the original footage of anymore, but I was wondering with the advent of HD-DVD (or BluRay). If you were to rip an HD-DVD using a program like Handbrake (I know it can't rip HD-DVD yet, but just go with me on this), would the ripped quality be higher theoretically? Just curious.by Darren - Café LA Re: OT - Favorite TV Show Theme Intro - 17 years agoDan Brockett Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I produced the bonus features and cast reunion for > the first season DVD of Hill Street Blues. Then there is THE SHIELD that lasts for like 10 seconds. Then the oldie of HAWAII FIVE-O and Jack Lord turning around at the top of the hotel.... classic.by Darren - Café LA Re: OT - Favorite TV Show Theme Intro - 17 years agoIt's funny that Hill Street Blues is mentioned because I'm 35, and I vaguley remembered that show since my parents were huge fans at the time. And I made this post having Hill Street as one of the shows in mind. I bought the DVD seasons 1 & 2 and found myself really liking the show. I did particularly notice the intro with it's editing and music being opposite of what the show's dynamicby Darren - Café LA OT - Favorite TV Show Theme Intro - 17 years agoI'm always fascinated by movie trailers and editors whose challenge is to make you want to see that movie within X amount of minutes. I know TV Show Theme Intros are not designed by nature to get you to want to watch the show (since you're watching it already) but they more or less seem to sum up the show within 30 to 60 seconds. They are not free. However, you can customize your order by choosing only the ones you want. I ordered the SP templates, and I'm happy with them. I don't think you will find free ones. I tried looking, but never found any. You can also try: Pixelpops has matching DVD covers and labels to match the templates. Don't get me wrong, that as far as the whole iMovie package is concerned, iDVD is great. But compared to what DVDSP has and can do, I prefer SP. What are you trying to do? Are you trying to find more custom/better templates for DVDSP? I understand you wanting other choices in the templates.by Darren - DVD Studio Pro Re: Import template from IDVD to DVDSP - 17 years agoI don't think so... but I never tried to.by Darren - DVD Studio Pro Re: What do you do for a MiniDV deck when you don't have $3,000 for a deck?
