The last film I had HD'd from 35mm was also 100 mins long and from a low contrast print which had been previously color corrected by Mato at Fotokem. I booked 16+ hours, but it was done in 13 hours excluding sound layback. He was also doing the pan and scan from a 1:2.35 anamorphic scope movie. Best Harry.by harry323 - Café LA

Hell - I think I must have installed ProKit 6.0.1 by mistake along with other Apple downloads because FCP is having a crashing great time. I mean A LOT of crashing; and when I go to Software Update "ProKit" no longer appears FCP 6.0.6 and Snow Leopard 10.6.6. Can any of you kind people out there tell me how to un-install this? Ha! This one again! I had this years ago - Sudden Explosive Sound Syndrome. It's one of life's great mysteries. I should take Derek and Jude's advice. Do you also get that thing where one of your tracks is suddenly playing back something completely unrelated - like a Brass Band VERY LOUD? I found that these two effects tended to go hand in hand. By the way, it is a Screen Actor's Guild Rule - as per the contract that I as a film producer have to sign annually with them - that actors shall receive, upon request, a copy of their scenes after the film has been released to DVD. Try Core Melt: This works pretty well for me: From the manual Blurs the highlights of the image and mixes them back over the image creating an effect similar to a diffusion filter or shooting video through a stocking. I have a photograph of a grasshopper against a black background. I have to matte this into a plate shot of a table. I guess I need to fix the Alpha channel so that the black will disappear and the grasshopper will sit on the table. I read that, in order to create a proper Alpha channel, I should export my grasshopper picture (unrendered) using the ANIMATION codec. But when I do that Iby harry323 - Café LA

Hail, O Wise Ones. I want to record from the SDI output of a Canon XLH1 camera direct to FCP (v6.0.6) OS 10.5.8 using my Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme card. This is what I have discovered so far from a review on Millimeter Magazine: At any rate, what comes out of the HD-SDI spigot is always uncompressed 1080/60i. I recently did a job for a shower container producer who has not paid me. This was for some infomercials which are currently running and some stuff that runs on his website. Does anyone have a line on an old mono Nagra for hire? I have to digitize 563 1/4 inch tapes for a job. These are mono tapes recorded on a reel to reel Nagra with NeoPilotone sync.
