Talk about useless. I generally make my own set of beeps because they are so useless. I feel like I figured that out once, but the volume of the beeps couldn't be modified. They where so effing loud compared to the tracks that the actor and I did without. I guess I could have lowered the volume of the system, and then raised the mix master volume. There is also a very amusing short animated video on the history of the mp3, at this site. Has anyone worked with this software yet. I'm worried about trusting it because I'd have no way to check the file.

You can also burn an HD/DVD that is blue ray player compatible-ish. Otherwise you need a blue ray burner. And then I think compressor, or it's one of the FCP share settings for making blue-rays. Check the tutorial section.

This software sounds amazing. It looks as if it can make a pro- tools session from an XML. I really think you need to Demo this software at the next lafcpug meeting. Even Pre X integration, this looks like an awesome tool.

P2 footage in L&T won't transcoder into ProRes - 11 years ago

Im working on a project shot on both the panasonic hvx, and DSLRs. I want to transcode the 720p P2 footage to ProRes on ingest. L&T has a preference setting for doing that. I seem to remember doing it once, but now I set the preference to ProRes, and the footage keeps coming in as DVCPro. What am I missing?

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the problem. Cant you select multiple numbered folders and import via L&T. I don't think you need to select the stream itself, just the folder name something like 0004fg8.

Yep, the guys over at the Avid community board turned me onto them, and I bought it. The last time I bought from them I bought Premeire and the origional Miro card. Apparently they've got discounted Premeire too until the 30th.

If I have to completely re-train myself, then avid makes more sense. Oh to be able to export a change list. I know FCP is supposeed to have done this through, the film list thing, but I confess to never getting it to work correctly.

Yep saw the sticky, months ago. I've just had these other problems from the get go and thought they might be related. I may have a hardware problem either with the drives or the slots they plug into. It's looking un related to whatever the inconsistency in my machine is that makes it choke on the prokit update.

I dont own CS3 and Im always hampered by clients and retarded dumb***t web monkeys, that want stuff in flash. Imho the webmonkeys should do this because they are designing the page and know what size everything is going to be, and how it will fit together, or they dont know and might want to change things as they go. The doc is being shot with an HVX as a main camera at 720p, and then DSLRs shooting 1080. Everything is 23.98. Except timelapse shots and other in-camera tricks. My first intuition is make all the timelines 720p as the smaller image will make for shorter renders, and smaller files. Here is some love on that. The matching frame rates for scan lines is important, but... You can also export as a tif sequence and re-import that tiff sequence. The titles wont strobe, they might jitter a little but on the whole they will look a lot better.

I found the Larry Jordan article, but it seems to me that I was doing something a little more manual. I might have been compressing in compressor and then using another app to make a "BR DVD-R"

I'm fairly certain, I've made a high def DVD-R that played in my Sony Blue-ray player. I can't remember what the magic sauce was though. When I make a HD DVD using compressor and DVDSP it won't play because it's the lost format. Can any one think of what I might have done in the past? Any psychics out there, or just the same old Psychotics?

Security burn in AFTER, mpeg compression? - 12 years ago

oops I forgot to make some sort of title/security burn-in before I started a 6 hour cook in to mpeg file for DVD. What is the best way to add something after the fact? Compressor? or some other utility?
