I shoot all the LAFCPUG meetings in AVCHD from 2 cameras one a Canon Vixia and a Sony AX 2000 although I have started to use the Atomos Ninja on my Sony and shooting straight to ProRes bby Dean - Café LA

Use Log and Transfer. Open the preferences in the Log and Transfer window (upper right hand corner and you should see a AVCHD Plugin choose what ever flavor of Pro Res you like I normally use 422 but I sometimes use LT and have even used proxy for some web stuff. You can set logs even import sections of the clips.by Dean - Café LA

Is there going to be a LAFCPUG meeting in June? As the normal date for June should be June 22 Doubt you will have it the night before Supermeet Mike. If the meeting was the week before it's possible that L.A. Final Cut Pro User Group could trump them all. Remember June starts on the first. Food for thought.by Dean - Café LA

Yes it was brand new original packaging a US camera the box was a little loose on the bottom but everything was fine I'd buy again if I could find as good a deal from them.by Dean - Café LA

I bought my Sony AX 2000 from fumfie I was scared as @#$%& it took longer about a week to get it shipped they charge you I think 6% insurance but I got my camera in good condition and saved about $700.00 on it. They try and sell you a bunch of other stuff but don't give you a hard time if you don't get more.by Dean - Café LA

Well it is a Mirrored Raid and not striped so it not going to be any faster then a single drive maybe slower due to mirroring? Much safer though if one drive dies on you.by Dean - Café LA

Hopefully WD is buying Hitachi for their quality technologies and will implement them into all their drives or use them as a higher quality drives. I have not really had any troubles with my WD drives I have owned and are still working to this day. I don't like the box' that they use though as mine have been all bare drives.by Dean - Café LA

If you're going to test out iMovie to see what it is like Make Sure you turn on the advanced tools in the Prefs and enable "Show Fine Tuning Controls" in the Browser tab of the prefs. Makes it way better.by Dean - Café LA - X

No Problems here so far either. I had a co worker here at Apple (retail) who came to me with concerns about FCP not starting up which worried me until I got back to my edit bay an launched FCP.by Dean - Café LA

It cost me $130.00 to install a Blue ray burner in my Mac Pro and about an hour of my time and I can slowly burn blue ray disks from FCP 7. Drive is a liteon from fry's.by Dean - Café LA

I moved from a GL2 to a Sony AX 2000 I shoot all the LAFCPUG meetings with it and it takes great pictures it has XLR but the audio is AAC only and the camera tends to pick up noise from the camera even from bumping the handle on the tripod with a shotgun mic attached, I get around this by mounting an additional mic holder or I don't bump the camera.
