Re: recognizing firewire Canon GL1-mini DV - 12 years agoI'd also like to suggest getting a good Powered FireWire Hub so it's not daisy chained although I have a GL2 I used to use it on my MacBook through Mike Hortons Lacie Drive (Bus Powered) through Vee Scope Live and back and it always worked fine. I have been using the Logitech MX Mouse that has a velocity scroll wheel so I can flick it and it keeps spinning lot's of buttons and features and comfortable. On a Mac Book Pro if you get this dialog box you can go into the Energy Saver and enable the High Performance radio button and the Mac Book Pro will be happy. The Mac Book unfortunately does not have this ability.by Dean - Café LA Re: Intensity Pro has no HDMI sync - 12 years agoJ I have an Intensity card not the Pro but I find I get a much better signal to my HD Monitor when I have my Camera plugged in and turned on to the input via HDMI. You might give that a try.by Dean - Café LA Re: Does cable quality really make a difference? - 13 years agoI wouldn't necessarily purchase the most expensive firewire cable but if you are using one of those skinny apple firewire cables I would definitely Not use it. As soon as i removed my TV from cable all hum went away. Koz helped me with this years ago. I can hand hold them easily and the footage is beautiful. I have watched Rick edit the footage on his Mac Book Pro and there is no issues and it's fast.
