Re: What's the best way to get footage from a Canon FS100? - 15 years agoOh also you can pull out the the SDHC card put it in the card reader it must be one that supports the SDHC cards. Using log and transfer L&T should see it as a camera and you can transfer from there one again in Prorez. It may take time for the card to become available.by Dean - Café LA Re: What's the best way to get footage from a Canon FS100? - 15 years agoI plug in my HF10 similar to hf100 with USB, the camera has to have the power adapter plugged in. I use log an transfer in FCP it gets transcoded to Pro Res and it takes about real time. The One To One program by Apple is by far the best way to learn and the deal of the century. Members are trained one on one with professionals that are really trained to teach to older users as they are the bulk of the one to one members. They also teach kids and anyone in between. I've heard stories about these going through a friend's wash and coming out sprinkly clean with no data loss (not something i'll advice, though). I did that to my iPod shuffle as well and it still works. Mostly because in OS X 10.5.6 my Tascam 1082 just does not like it when FW drive are plugged in. I have been shooting the last couple of LAFCPUG meetings with it. But those will only be available later. All computers could be infected at anytime so far Macs have a very strong immune system. Stay informed but at the same time don't freak out over any reports of Mac virus'.by Dean - Café LA Re: Best Consumer Camera out there (for my workflow) for a $G and under - 15 years agoI've been shooting with the Canon HF10 and getting pretty nice results. You should start to see some of the footage on the L.A. Final Cut Pro User Group DVD's Canon now has a HF11 with more storage. Both cams use AVCHD and ingest to Prores ingest and convert takes about the same time as tape. Files are big 16 gigs turns into 165 gigs Apprx.
