Re: ProRez 4444 Alpha compatibility - 13 years agoTry changing the interpretation to White.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: HD DVD Camcorder/What to BUY - 13 years agoChange this forum from FCP Troubleshooting to "What kind of camera should I get?" How often must we see a post like this in an editing forum?by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: how to turn a v2 clip into an alpha layer in FCP 5.04? - 13 years agoGoogle: Chroma Key Final Cut Pro. My article is still the #1 hit there:by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: playback pain - 13 years agoMy Brother, QuickTime windows are not used in Final Cut Pro, so you can't try to compare the imagery you see in both applications. The FCP Canvas will always show lower quality video in comparison with the original, that is, unless your Canvas is set to 100% precisely. That's just the way FCP works, always has been that way. Please, even though it's confused thousands of users before you, just aby Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Nested Sequences and EDLs - 13 years agoI suggest rendering out a separate piece of media for every nest. That would be media manageable. Also, nesting rules! I hope it always exists in the application. Just know its perils!by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Image not sharp in the viewer and canvas - 13 years agoIt's totally normal that your Canvas won't display the full quality of your video. I know, it's confusing! Continue to monitor picture in your external video monitor as you have been doing. That's the proper way to do it, so good on you!by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Batch Export Stills from Timeline? - 13 years agoAre you talking about an image sequence?by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Jagged graphics from Photoshop - 13 years agoTry this: 1. Set Canvas to 100% precisely. 2. Sequence Menu > Render Selection > Full (be sure it is checked) 3. Select Graphic 4. Render item: CMD + R 5. Check results on broadcast monitor 6. Check results on Canvas at 100% if no broadcast monitorby Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: proxy vs aic - 13 years agoProxy isn't bad, but for a good sweet spot, LT does the job!by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: proxy vs aic - 13 years agoI would try ProRes LT. It takes less space than ProRes 422 and looks really good.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Smoothcam broken in FCP7 - 13 years agoAre the clips from tape or log and transfer? If the latter, can you try reimporting them?by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: WD Firewire Drive won't mount - 13 years agoThose MyBooks are the worst at mounting. 1. Disconnect all plugs 2. Connect Power 3. Allow :30 for drives to spin up 4. Connect Cable to Drive 5. Connect Cable to Computerby Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Does FCS 3 work with MXO? - 13 years agoMXO worked fine in all my FCP 7 tests.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: FCP7 Reports - 13 years agoI can verify that FCP and Motion are very stable.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: keyboard shortcut to toggle sequence tabs in the timeline in final cut pro - 13 years ago...which you should immediately remap!by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Upgrading to FCS3/FCP7 - 13 years agoGuys, FCS 2009 was not designed to run on Power PC Macs at all. FCS 2 is the last version that runs on Power PC.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: How to pronounce ProRes 4444 - 13 years agoMe 'n my boys call it "Pro Res Quad". We are trying to get everyone to pronounce it that way.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Is it possible to burn a blu-ray disc from FCS-3 (final cut 7, dvdsp5) ? - 13 years agoFCP, Motion and Compressor. Not DVDSP.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Thank you for the nice 6.5 upgrade - 13 years agoEvery version we see the Negative Nellies come out. It will die down soon. I happen to think it's a solid release.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: 2nd Amsterdam SuperMeet - Who's coming? - 13 years agoWouldn't that be nice?by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: FCP 7: Motion 4 : Color 1.5 ect :-))) - 13 years agoNothing new as far as trimming goes. Sorry CHL.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Don't call it FCS 3, it's just FCS. - 13 years agoBefore you guys start getting into bad habits.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: New Final Cut Studio released - 13 years agoYou can expect a LOT of cool new features. If I capture a whole tape, I'll set in and outs and batch capture that one clip.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: Avid For Final Cut Editor - 13 years agoI got my chops at Video Symphony. Great school. Also taught there, so I may be biased.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA Re: nesting and "scrolling" images - 13 years agoMark, The answer lies within my book. Maybe you should pick it up? OK, I'll give you a hint. The nested sequence has to be an oversized one, not the same frame size as the sequence.by Kevin Monahan - Café LA |
