When good Widgets go bad - 19 years agoFrom one of my usergroups : Hi All! Turning off 'Open Safe Files' in the preferences for Safari prevents the widget from automatically installing, but it does still download. It is a bit conflicting whether it can really attack the system, but as someone said you might get some nasty pop ups or keyloggers. Let's hope Apple have already seen this and have a patch out soon! _________________by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Tiger Week One - 19 years agoHey Howard How long did it take for the first reboot while Tiger was indexing your HDs? I've heard people quote quite long times for ordinary drives, and I'm just wondering how that's going to affect people who have video-sized drives.. Does it index *all* your drives, or just the main HD? Could spotlight interfere with capture in the same way that journaling or virus apps can?by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Quicktime 7 - 19 years agoFCP 5 is just around the corner - it's already been announced. Quicktime 7 will play a major part, because of the new codecs, and the need for support of multiple audio channels. Have you tried Nick's trick? I'd be interested to hear how it goes if you do.by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: DigiBeta to Some Place Else - 19 years agoYup. Same here. I just got the first test file and FCP refused to recognise it until I added the .mov extension. Once I did this is was all fine though. I am also in PAL land, and I pulled it into a PAL project for testing so I was happy to see the wonky frame rate was no problem. Koz - it took me about 6 minutes to download the 78mb file, so I'm thinking that the 780mb file will take in excessby Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Quicktime 7 - 19 years agoNice tip, Nick. I'm gonna give that a shot when I've finished this project.by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Trying out optional Log IN/register for Cafe LA - 19 years agoTa Mike. Must be Camino then. Wish it would get out of beta!by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Trying out optional Log IN/register for Cafe LA - 19 years agoHey, nice. Thanks Mike I like the moderator stuff too - just think of the evil misdeeds we could.. erm.. *ahem*. Sorry, bit of a Strangers in Paradise moment there.... Is anyone else having trouble with all the red *new* tags dissapearing after you reply to one post? Not sure if it's just my browser .... >>>Editing this post just to see what it does.<<<by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: DigiBeta to Some Place Else - 19 years agoSurely if your FCP can run the files, then theirs can too? Does the Aja require additional plugins to work? If you want, Koz, capture a few seconds and let me FTP the file (or email me), and I'll try to run it on my (non Aja) system. Don't do the stuffit thing, I want to see if there is an OSX to OSX problem too.by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Quicktime 7 - 19 years agoI think that the whole Quicktime 7 thing looks a bit dodgy at the moment. Maybe best to wait until FCP5, Tiger and the pro serial number are all in the same place at the same time. Do a search here for some people looking for ways to get back to quicktime 6. It shouldn't be too long.by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Dual boot question - 19 years agoSo, what you're saying is that you want to use FCP 5, but you don't want to lose the stability that you've had with OS 10.3.5, is that right? Well, just to reassure you, I'm on 10.3.9 and it's been no trouble so far. You probably won't even notice the difference. If it all goes pear shaped, you can always just reinstall 10.3.5. Of course, it's best not to do this is the middle of an importantby Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Trouble Capturing - 19 years agoFor other people reading this thread for answers, Micheal emailed me and said : "That was the problem Thanks!"by Jude Cotter - Café LA Re: Trying out optional Log IN/register for Cafe LA - 19 years agoOh. So that's what it is lol.by Jude Cotter - Café LA |
