If FCP is going to be a substantial re-write with modern code, wouldn't it be easier on all of us if a new, modern, slick shared editing solution came from one source? the vendor? WHY? - 13 years agoWell, I just fired up iMovie '09 for the first time ever, dropped a transition in between two clips, double clicked to open the inspector and had to pick my jaw off the floor. Instant and I mean instant feedback on any number of transitions. U to cycle trim side to incoming frames. Left bracket to trim incoming frames. I can trim them AND I can see them. V to select nearest cut. U to cycle trim side to outgoing frames. Right bracket to trim outgoing frames. I can trim them but I can't see them. If you duplicate and open the Color project or duplicate and open the saved grade or duplicate and open the saved secondary, right-click and show package contents, navigate to a file that ends in .scc Drag and drop that on to TextEdit. Re-order via copy paste everything between the <secondary> </secondary> tags. I tried turning off javascript in safari. Individual pages will load on page-by-page basis, but who the frak wants to do that or use quicklook in the finder? I also tried using the Web Capture feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro. I have a sequence with Video and say 24 tracks of audio, of which say, 1-19 are sync sound , narration and effects, 20-24 are music. Jude's solution works , though you have to 'think' in frames and seconds rather than just going with your instinct and 'place cut here'. Andy, thanks for that. It's very handy indeed. The following I understand.. "Select the edit point you want to extend, then move the playhead later in the sequence where you want the extend to end... type e."
