Actually i made it work by re-exporting my footage using MPEG Streaby xavpil - Café LA Re: Conform TL to clip - 12 years agoI don't. I imported my clips. Created a new Sequence and dropped a clip in. BUt the TL just "accepts" the clip w/o asking if it should conform the sequence to the clip settings...by xavpil - Café LA Conform TL to clip - 12 years agoFor some reasons when I drop a clip in the TL for the first time, I don't get the message I used to get asking to conform or not the sequence to the clip settings. I checked that my settings were ok so I checked in User Pref / editing / Auto conform sequence "ask" Any advice? Thanks a lotby xavpil - Café LA Re: Mac Pros? Something happening? - 12 years agoI really didnt mean to call you out. My apologies. I sometimes see you guys making comments, "joking" around. I guess i havent earned this right yet! :-) Ill let the "big boys" joke around whenever they see fit and will just go back to my observer position: in politics some would call this Dictarorship. My apologies again your highness. Lolby xavpil - Café LA Re: Mac Pros? However since I started in this business I never heard of Union editor in the TV promo world. Is it because Union editors are mainly feature film editors or is it because TV doesnt deal with Union Editor? Thanksby xavpil - Café LA Re: How to collapse clips in TL - 12 years agothanks for your helpful reply Nick. I guess we're both working on real projects that require several layers of video and probably audio. Sometimes I wish I'd still be cutting stuff where all I'd need is V1 for A Cam, V2 for B Cam and V3... for.... oh lowerthirds!! Nice... Anyway I checked out Edit Mule and it seems very nice! Thanks again. I have so many layers of video that it takes me forever to do the cleaning. So far I've been using Shift-click-drag to bring my clips from the higher tracks to "overwrite" the clips underneath. Is there a way to do this quicker? Thxby xavpil - Café LA Re: What to do.... - 13 years agoHey Derek we're talking actor's reel here.... not client... Of course for a real/paying client you would never do that. But counting on establishing professional relationship with starting actors with the hope that one day they'll use you again.... with pay... is utopia!! I leave/work in Hollywood. No actor picks his editor... unless this actor shot his own movie and wants to hire you. In thisby xavpil - Café LA Re: What to do.... - 13 years agoI totally second Derek. I've been in this type of situations. A good way out w/o burning bridges is to make believe you will do your best to help. A few ideas: you either don't remember what font you used... The files were transfered from the SD cards to the drive so I am afraid someone might have messed up the folder structure by renaming. Anyone knows the folder structure? Or is it a FCP 6 thing? In this pretty ideal scenario, what would you guys request? It's a 2 cam shoot in a live event: A cam follows a host who'll talk to people in the venue - B cam only Broll. We'll have a boom.
