I don't agree Francois, When it comes to FCP FX and workflow, not a whole lot has changed since FCP 1.0! So your argument that my ideas in my book or in this seminar might be "out of date" is terribly moot. I would say that no one, and I mean NO ONE has taken my ideas to such an advanced level in any book or website. With the advent of digital still cams, practically all novices will not even think twice about dragging and dropping images directly into FCP. Don't let this be you. All stills should be taken through Photoshop first and be optimized for a suitable frame size. Many of these photos have a huge frame size, which overly taxes the CPU, hence the ol' yellow bar. The FCP image stabilizer has a bad reputation, for sure. It lacks a rotate function. I've heard that multiple copies of the filter works somewhat better. Lyric.com makes a good one. I've seen the FileMaker 8 demo and it was cool. They showed practical examples of how to catalog your stuff right from FCP. There was also a demo from eMotion Studios on how they keep track of every single one of their shots. They can call play a thumbnail movie, then from that call up an SD version or the full HD file which are stored elsewhere. Very slick. You should get them Mike. Make sure thby Kevin Monahan - Café LA

Here's what you do: render every sequence and nest in the browser. That way, you can be sure every nest will be rendered. Just select the sequences and choose Sequence>Render All. Use Title 3D, not the legacy generators. LiveType and Motion are tip top as well. When judging rendered graphics, make sure the dark green "FULL" bars are checked in the Sequence > Render menus prior to rendering. Actually, it was not autoinstalled in version 4-4.5. You have to install it yourself: it is in the Extras Folder on the Installation disk. It's called "Boris Calligraphy".
